Actually one can easily implement positional sensing using CC-related parameters in any decent SFZ sampler (some sample banks even have support out of the box). on_loccN and on_hiccN opcodes have been there since SFZ v1 (dated pre-2005 at least). Ubuntu(Xubuntu in my case, but it doesn't matter that much), it's debian-based, it has native KXstudio repos support etc

Not really related to drums, but I find TAL Sampler is one of the best instruments for recreating 80s-like sound. Not free, neither cheap but costs every cent to my opinion.
