Re: Unexpectedly high xruns with modern hardware

you could just use the debian package. When the build fail, run export IGNORE_PREEMPT_RT_PRESENCE=1 and rebuild the driver (apt install -f), or check in the terminal the make command the driver use, copy it over and add IGNORE_PREEMPT_RT_PRESENCE=1 to the make line. I don't know for sure, but as far...

Re: Unexpectedly high xruns with modern hardware

The Nvidia driver build script have a environment variable, you could set

Code: Select all

export IGNORE_PREEMPT_RT_PRESENCE=1
before build, or just

Code: Select all

make IGNORE_PREEMPT_RT_PRESENCE=1

Re: Unexpectedly high xruns with modern hardware

That's partly true, Debian's RT kernels and most others won't allow Nvidia drivers to build. I'm using the Nvidia driver with a rt-kernel since years now on my debian/sid system without issues. True, I'm used to build my own kernels so I don't know if that works with a stock debian rt-kernel as well.

Re: CPU temperature 94 degrees Celsius!

Try just enabling one of those parameters at a time to determine which one is causing the heat. My Intel i5 6500 idles around 35℃ and when maxed out with video encoding sits on about 60℃. Kernel parameters are: "quiet intel_idle.max_cstate=0 processor.max_cstate=1 threadirqs" Yea, that's ...

Vardy wrote: Fri May 07, 2021 10:15 pm The example above is optimized for an i7 (make -j8).
Be aware that this is only a optimisation for the build process, means faster build. The -j option tells make how many parallel processes it could run. The resulting binary differ in now way from a binary build with just make.

Re: fluidsynth: warning: Instrument not found on channel 0

You could use just the release tar ball: https://github.com/brummer10/Fluida.lv2/files/6329806/Fluida_0.7.tar.gz to avoid any git issues. Still, it seems that the state file isn't loaded correctly on the fluid plugs you mentioned, so, it may very well be that this becomes true for Fluida as well. Ho...

Re: fluidsynth: warning: Instrument not found on channel 0

There is a other fluidsynth plug here which you may try: https://github.com/brummer10/Fluida.lv2 I tried to run Mixbus into terminal and it gives the following message that I think may be related to the problem: fluidsynth: warning: Instrument not found on channel 0 Still, this is just a warning and...

Re: Amps in GxPlugins

Yea, it turns out out that the GxSuperSonic get more love from Bass Players then expected. I've usually made it indeed for some dark guitar sound I needed but this day's it is mostly used by Bass Players. The Plexi may need a distortion pedal (simulation) in front to shine, I like it with the GxSunF...

Re: Amps in GxPlugins

The GxBlueAmp is indeed just the amp head without cabinet simulation, while the Plexi include a cabinet sim, but that doesn't mean that you can't add a other cab sim after it. The included cab is just a basic filter, not a convolver like the GxCabinet. Here is how I made the GxPlexi amp sim: https:/...

Re: JACK is Hannibal Lector with an ear fetish

Okay. :) Still I've no idea what PipeWire have to do with Wayland. But for PipeWire we could assume that it is a step in the right direction. The developer take a lot of care for the needs of pro Audio users and is in continuos contact to the LAD people. He have already implemented a lot of requests...

No. And that's why PipeWire was invented for :)
Again, why not? It is always possible to use a UI-bridge.

Why not? XWayland is just a Wayland client and could be invoked at any time.
