Re: New guy here and already struggling with Jack!

To explain that, if, a user steps in here and ask for help to get a linux application to run, for sure, the last to expect is, "hey, just use a windows app for that". So, the question is, why do you feel the need to do so. If a user ask for help to get guitar rig running, well, you are the...

Re: Using MIDI for RPC

Why do you want that? First point is, you need to abuse a protocol to do so, this abuse must be supported by the application you want to serve by this. Much easier is a socket to use, which could do all that, without abusing a protocol. A (rpc) socket could as well be used across networks, so you co...

Re: New guy here and already struggling with Jack!

I'm not saying that native applications are bad, in fact . . . . Oh, that is exactly what you saying. Ah new user steps in, ask for help to get linux native guitar processing software to run, and you, didn't have anything to contribute to that, then told, "No, that is the wrong way, go, use wi...

Re: Cut Through Recordings Plug-ins available in LV2 Format

Once, this forum was a place were Open Source enthusiasts meat each other and talk about open source music software, and how we could improve it. This is more and more gone, lost over the time. As more members we've here, as more the acceptance for Close Source and Commercial Ware steps in. Now, it'...

A nice initiative I found,
Why is software created using taxpayers’ money not released as Free Software?

Re: How can I assign commands to Guitarix with MIDI foot controller

But the middle mouse button dosen't work on guitarix's MIDI controller which is attached image on my previous post. Do I misunderstand you? :( It seems so, yes. By clicking with the middle mouse button on a controller, I mean, a Knob, a switch, or a selector list, any controller in the Guitarix GUI...

Re: New GxCreamMachine.lv2

The cream machine is a complete amp (right? With cabinet simulation, if I understood correctly) which needs only a few pedals in addition to get a nice sound! Yes, that's it. I had planned to record a demo of it, but then got problems with my general setup. Maybe this evening That will be very welc...

Re: How can I assign commands to Guitarix with MIDI foot controller

Hi Your connections looking good so far. Guiarix use MIDI learn to connect a midi controller to a parameter. So, do a middle mouse button click on a controller in the GUI, that will pop up a little widget. Then move the Midi controller you would connect to it, the number of the Midi controller will ...

Re: Guitarix 0.38.1 released

Oh, any toolkit has it's drawbacks, and so has fltk. Thread save file browser isn't possible, for example. As I've ported already the GxPlugin suite to X11, I'm familiar with X11 already. Together with cairo, it is very suitable for lv2 plugins. Check out the GxPlugins suite for that: https://github...

Re: Guitarix 0.38.1 released

QT seems like a decent library, look at samplv1, synthv1, drumkv1, they use QT5 and in theory, should work with Wayland. Just some food for thought. Going with Qt(x) isn't a choice. It's at least the same beast, when not more evil,(still I believe it's much more evil  ) then GTK(x)(m...
