Re: Ultralite AVB

Alright, sounds good. Yeah, I wouldn't want you to be in a situation where you had upgraded to a new firmware in anticipation of this patch, found it didn't work, and then couldn't downgrade. If you're able to downgrade then I think you're in the clear. -w Ok, yes, downgrading is fully supported. W...

I am running firmware 1.3.4+558 on my device (Utralite AVB non-ESS) right now.. Do I need to upgrade to newer firmware to get the usb protocol up to date ?? I will try to get my system running with the new kernel as soon as I applied the patch and built it successfully /Anders If that's still befor...

Re: Ultralite AVB

So, the behaviour I was observing with Audacity turned out to be resolved by a BIOS update, so that may have been a sketchy USB host controller. Regardless, even with the BIOS updated, I was seeing channel drifting after hours to days of operation with linux-next. With "acpi_irq_nobalance nowatchdo...

Re: Help me get back to a functional DAW (Xruns Galore)

I have been running linux and Ardour since long time ago and x-runs and tweaking has been an ongoing battle. I am using both FireWire and USB and tried all kinds of computers and newer laptops seems to be a lot harder to successfully run with low latency. Running Ardour with just alsa seems to work ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

The UltraLite AVB's mixer is accessible via web browser. I guess on Windows and Mac they use ip-over-USB. I don't know if and how this works with Linux. Plug your UltraLite AVB's ethernet interface in and see on your router which ip address it gets. Then use http:// with that address. I configured ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

ps: I've contacted MOTU on this, and their answer is basically: we do not care about you, dear linux weird little person. I asked if they could exchange my brand new ESS with the older model. They won't. I do not recommend MOTU to any Linux user, definitely. Useful to know. I've been following this...

Re: New driver for UltraLite AVB (and 828ES)

This is very good news!

What is the chance this patch finding it's way into the official kernel?

Note:
Don't apply other patches for MOTU Ultralite AVB. Just replace sound/usb/misc/ua101.c

Bonus:
One reader tested the driver successfully with his 828ES.

Hi ahellquist

It's the latest firmware, 1.3.5+626.

Fritz
Ok. Great to know.
I will build a patched kernel and upgrade one of my devices to check how it works.

Thanks

Re: Ultralite AVB

Just a quick update: with the latest patch and a shorter USB cable it seems to work flawlessly (no channel hopping, no artifacts so far). Just one or the other is not enough (we've previously tried a shorter USB cable without the patch and it didn't solve the issues). Hello ! With what firmware is ...

Re: Ultralite AVB

My bad, i added the proper line in the clock.c file and then forgot about it. I'd say linux is to blame here because the descriptor for the isoc IN endpoint has the implicit feedback bit set and that's ignored by the driver. If Linux is to blame. We maybe should not complain to Motu at all. Will th...
