Concrats Hermann,

What a tremendous work you've put into developing this gem.

Nice to see it come so far.

Re: Any Ecasound and Nama Users?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm already using the mailinglist (every now and then).

Using Ecasound as my go-to DAW.
I have scripts for when I just want to noodle on my guitar or to record a quick idea.
The build-in effect are suprisingly good.
Love it.

Re: Any Ecasound and Nama Users?

That's a very nice recording (and beautiful music too)! I've been working with Ecasound using Nama on top of it for some time now. Personally I really like the bare-to-the-bone look and feel and it works rock solid. There are three things which are a bit less easy to do or which needs some improveme...

Re: Any Ecasound and Nama Users?

Greetings to you too!

I've checked that website and it has some nice musical examples!

Do you mind sharing your script as an example?
Do you use Nama as well?

And yes, ecasound is no joke! It's very powerful. And I noticed it's updated recently.

Any Ecasound and Nama Users?

Recently I came across Ecasound and the frontend Nama and I kinda like the bare to the bone look and feel of it. Besides that, I also like the fact that it's low on resources; my trusty Presonus VLS audio card, demands old (usb 2.0) hardware to function. And lastly, it would really suit my recording...

Thanks. I've dusted off my good old SM58 and will give it a go with my guitar.

And how do you record guitar or other acoustic instruments, also with a dynamic mic?

Re: Computer and mic in one room

If it's a tower then there are various things you can do to make it quieter, depending on what you want to spend, some fairly cheap. I'm sure google can give you better information than my knowledge of looking in to it 10+ years ago. It's a laptop. I've tried to put it far away from the mic but mak...

Re: Alan Perros - Three Blues (Video)

Alan, I like both songs.
Some nice pianolike jazz voicings, cool!

Do you know Ron Eschete and George Van Esp?
I think you would like their kind of playing.

Re: Using a low-Z unbalanced mic

Bit late to the party, but here's my two cents. Problem with your mic is that it has a relative high Z (low is considered <1k), comparable with a humbucker pickup, but with an output level of a mic. When using a DI-box, you get a balanced, low Z signal, but the level of your signal is even less. Dep...

Computer and mic in one room

When recording with a mic, I always get some background noise from the fan of my laptop, because it is in the same room as my mic (I have but little room in my house to record). My guess is that more people have to to deal with this issue. How do you cope with that? Do you denoise your file? And if ...

Gxtuner release 3.0: Just Intonation tuner

Gxtuner is a simple yet effective standalone tuner with full jack session management support. I've reworked gxtuner (with tramp as a patient and gracious mentor to assist me), to be able to tune all sorts of just intervals. There's a good article on wikipedia if you're not familiar with Just Intona...

I agree with falkTX and Tramp, and I'm very thankful for the great work they and others do for the open source community. IMHO the "I share for free what I have to offer"-philosphy, makes the world a better place. Back to the orginal guestion: Although being a registered user, I often chec...

Re: PlayItSlowly doesn't start after reinstalling KUbuntu

Thanks for the heads up.
I've found the webbased version also. It would be great if it can be run offline.
I'll check on Mixxx.
