After having installed Lubuntu and many futile attempts to install an RT Kernel, I decided to google for a distro which already included one. I settled on Puppy Studio and after initial setup, downloaded and installed PianoTeq 4 PRO. Only minutes ago I connected my E-MU 0202 Sound Card and E-MU MIDI...

Personally I'd go for Lubuntu (Ubuntu + LXDE) or even lighter. Or maybe Debian Wheezy + LXDE. You could even try running just X with Pianoteq, that's possible too with some tweaking. Thank you.
