Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)

linuxsampler linuxsampler is already packaged, and in all possible formats. you have "linuxsampler" for the standalone, then linuxsampler-dssi, linuxsampler-lv2, linuxsampler-vst and has an extra linuxsampler-lv2-32chan. install "linuxsampler-all" to get all of those. Maybe it w...

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)

There is still no proper drum instrument as LV2. I'd like to use drmr but it forgets the used drumkit and so it bugs me. This would be nice to have:

Re: jack autostart fail after last cadence update [solved]

Last cadence version is 1:0.8.1+git20140718, can you update? Can you also check if there are other jack related autostart entries? Someone here 'solved' th issue by creating an autostart entry in his HOMEDIR/.config/autostart but this is not the necessary. Updated, no other jack-related autostarts,...

Re: jack autostart fail after last cadence update [solved]

Cadence autostart does not work for me, I have Carla 1:0.8.1+git20140717, Ubuntu 14.04 (unity) and saffireLE fw-soundcard. I have to power cycle my soundcard after which "Force Restart" will start jackd. I'm bus-powering the saffireLE.

Re: Linux music as a major player...

I think selling linux-audio binaries would not be the issue. The issue is that most users don't have systems ready to be used for audio production. Take a freshly installed Ubuntu system. A user looks for something to make music and downloads/buys ardour. Upon startup, ardour will complain that jac...

Use jack output in mpd.conf directly.

Re: youtube sound

As you have posted this under KXStudio, I assume that you are using KXStudio, and that you control jack with cadence. In cadence, in the JACK Bridges section, ALSA Audio, select Bridge type "ALSO->Loop->JACK" Click the nearby Start button (Start JACK first if not already started). Why not...

Re: Catia+Claudia+Ardour3.4 causes automatic connections

No, I still had the ladishd running. Now that I killed it, the weird behaviour seems to be gone. As it was still running, when I created a new session in Ardour3.4, then a new mono audio track, the default connections then would be: soundcard input 1 -> audio1 soundcard input 2 -> audio1 soundcard i...

Re: Catia+Claudia+Ardour3.4 causes automatic connections

When you start the ladish process (usually by starting Claudia), you should NOT use any other connection managers (even Catia). The ladish process needs to know when a connection was made by itself (in this case Claudia) or others (like Ardour auto-connect). In short, if you ever open Claudia, don'...

Catia+Claudia+Ardour3.4 causes automatic connections

I haven't pinpointed the problem yet. I use Catia because of my usb-keyboard and Claudia since I use Hydrogen + Ardour. Every now and then, when making midi connections in Catia, something else gets connected also. I almost went deaf because a stereobus with plate reverb got connected to itself caus...

Re: The state of midi in Ardour3

I've got Ubuntu 13.04, KXstudio stuff and Ardour 3.3. A3 sometimes crashes after export, sometimes the sound gets scrambled after a few hours of working (this might be a jack problem), some plugins will result into a crash. A few Drmr plugins will crash A3. Linuxsampler -plugin does not work. Also w...

Re: USB keyboards on KXStudio

Sorry, now I managed to do the connection through Catia. I had to check out "show ALSA-MIDI" and back again to be able to see my keyboard. Will Ladish be able to remember the connections as I only use the keyboard every now and then?

Linuxsampler LV2

How can I use Linuxsampler as a LV2 plugin in KXstudio? When I setup the channel with qsampler, I only have the type-options "alsa" and "jack", the option "plugin" has been missing for unknown reason. Ardour is freezing when it tries to load sessions with linuxsampler l...

USB keyboards on KXStudio

Am I right in saying that usb-keyboards do not work in kxstudio? I have an EMU which I can connect with qjackctl, but in Catia with "show alsa-midi" option enabled I cannot connect it to use. The connection I make with qjackctl does not show in Catia.

Re: Should KXStudio repos move to Debian?

I voted no. First of all, I currently use KXStudio with Ubuntu 13.04 and Unity. The performance of Unity has taken a step forward, it seems very fast now. I don't understand why it would be bad for audio production, unless you have an old machine. I have no problem with MIR either, it will probably ...
