Re: De-clicker for Linux?

Unfortunately it's still not quite what I'm looking for. I use noise removers like noise-repellent all the time, and they're great for removing background noise. Static noise. As ReaFIR also seems to handle well. But mouth sounds aren't static. I'm not able to get them removed by an ordinary noise r...

Re: De-clicker for Linux?

To my knowledge by far the best tool for removing mouth lips and jaw noises for native Linux comes included in Reaper for Linux: the spectral noise reduction. On youtube you can find vdeos from Kenny Gioia. Additionally you can throw a look at "noise-repellent", "gtk-wave-cleaner&quo...

De-clicker for Linux?

Does anyone know of a de-clicker tool that works in Linux? FLOSS or proprietary, just anything that runs and works under Linux? A de-clicker is a tool for removing mouth noises in vocals. It's related to a noise remover, but takes just those specific clicky mouth sounds. When sound designing documen...

Re: Cecilia – how to make it work again?

Thanks, that's a good answer! I discovered that Pop!'s version of wxPython is 4.0.7, while Cecilia requires 4.1.0. So I'll look more into that part. The strange thing is that Cecilia has worked in every earlier Pop!_OS version I've had over the years. By the way, slangbein sounds like the most Norwe...

Cecilia – how to make it work again?

I'm such a fan of Cecilia! Yet, I've been unable to run it for the last 9 months. Since upgrading from Pop! _OS 21.10 to Pop! _OS 22.04, it won't launch. And now, as I've been without it for so long, I'm really starting to miss it. I wish I could make it work. On Pop!_OS' reddit this topic has been ...

AudioThing Dials

Just want to shout out to the Linux world that AudioThing has now released a Linux build for Dials. https://www.audiothing.net/effects/dials/ When Dials was released this fall, it was the first time in years I felt that running a Linux exclusive setup made me miss out on something I'd really want. A...

Calf Vintage Delay may be a good tool for this.

(In fact. I find it to be a good for lots of things.)

Re: Modern DSP audio interface for Linux?

Ok guys, after hours of having fun: It Just Works(tm). I'm also interested in the Fireface UCX II. However I saw this review pointing out the latency difference between class compliant mode and when running with RME drivers: https://youtu.be/-woScyWOjtE?t=551 Do you use it in class compliant mode? ...

Re: Pipewire freezes when launching Jack applications

Thanks for helping out. I tried this: Installing Pop!_OS 22.04 on a small partition, totally clean install. Sound just works. Mixbus 32C just works. Reaper just works. So I guess my mistake was to install a fresh root partition, but keep my old home partition as to not having to go through all the w...

Pipewire freezes when launching Jack applications

I'm trying so hard to get a working Pipewire setup on my machine running Pop!_OS 22.04. Pipewire is running well, most things work really smooth. Except that certain Jack applications (as Mixbus 32C and Reaper) freeze all the time. But the thing is I sometimes do stuff that makes my setup work for a...

Re: Pipewire for pro audio

Have you set node.lock-quantum = true in your config? I haven't set it like that, but it's like that by default, yes. And Linuxmusician01 is right, this issue calls for its own thread, rather than going into this one. I'll just investigate some more first. Thanks for your help so far! EDIT: sysrqer...

Re: Pipewire for pro audio

My setup is currently a neverending version of this: I open Mixbus or Reaper (just to test, I don't really work in Reaper), work there for about one minute until I hear the clicking in my loudspeaker, the old sign that Jack has frozen. Except it's pw-jack that for some reason freezes. And all the ti...

Re: Pipewire for pro audio

@thedebutant have you changed/made any settings for pipewire? I think you might need to lock the buffer size - https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/wikis/Config-JACK#buffer-size There's an option in the confs to set this all the time. No, I haven't tried locking the buffer size. Thank...
