Re: Reducing Static Noise - Getting an Audio Interface?

I have that noise in both cases: plugged in mic and no mic at all.
Interface is better option for condenser microphone but a new cheap external interface can also produce static hum.

Re: Combine two devices

I have two RME MADI FX running on Ubuntu Studio 14.04. I installed a driver from here https://github.com/adiknoth/madifx it works, both cards have all their inputs and outputs working. It works howver when I reduce the used channels per card from 192 to 64. I also found out, that years ago you coul...

Re: jack net opus

Uff almost everything seems to be working, I have got sporadic xruns but it looks to me that networking is faulty.
I have solved my problem by adding extra usb pci card to my thin server.

Hi, what do you mean by that "jack won't recognize your device"?
Haven't you chosen it as jack audio interface?

Re: More on NetJACK

Are these command line scripts or options to netjack, and how do they become visible to the netjack slave and/or DAW? Will they show up in, for instance, Carla? I have already made scripts to encapsulate the startup and parameters for netjack, so I could easily add more scripting to take care of an...

Re: Ultimate Subtleness: Ultimate Confidence Boost in Mixing

So, by Graham's logic, 1dB times 40 tracks (and in 40 different ways) = 40dB increase? Or even a 40dB decrease? No, your conclusion is completely wrong (go read about the math that's behind dBs ). What he's saying is that applying a change on a bus is the same as applying that change on every singl...

that's why I was asking because I hear nothing and I was trying to do what the article mentioned and I didn't notice anything. Are you sure that you are not monitoring in mono? Duplicate two times guitar track you have got, pan center first track, pan left second track and add chorus effect (...

Re: More on NetJACK

I have used spdif to connect two audio cards. alsa_in and alsa_out should work for you. Yes, but the spdif method is for chaining two sound cards on the same machine, isn't it? What I want to do is to have a sound card on each machine, and communication between the machines with NetJACK. Unless it'...

Re: Support of audio interfaces under Linux

Vendors are not interested in supporting Linux or the BSD's. Vendors (mostly) only support OSX and Windows. Also, thanks to "interns" vendors support android and hence support linux. No but it costs engineering hours to test and develop products. Vendors (mostly) don't want to spend the time and mo...

Re: Support of audio interfaces under Linux

Yeah ... well .... just in case there was still somebody out there who plays live instruments (guitar/bass fx, keyboards, EWI and so on) and/or needed low-latency audio then hopefully the information could be useful to them. It was obviously naive of me to assume that this is what most people requi...
