Re: EZDrummer alternative?

Thanks very much for the answers so far. I already work with Ardour in conjunction with Hydrogen. But 'm looking for something I saw in the macintosh environment. I think they called it "virtual drummer". It was a plug-in that would 'play' over a given bass track, and you could modify fill...

Good piano software - latency*

Hi. I'm trying to buid a portable piano based rig. I was thinking having a midi controller and some linux app playing samples in a notebook.

My concern is the latency. Are there any soft with a decent piano sound with a very low latency?

Thanks!!

Re: Ardour 2 and 5, with new Calf package

I believe that package containing ladspa has been the cause of a lot of problems lately. Did you download the Debian source? I'm curious about how you have ardour 2, that's really old. I would suggest getting rid of that package you installed and then adding the kxstudio repo, install calf from the...

Re: Ardour 2 and 5, with new Calf package

Hold on.

The Calf installer readme says "Calf is installed as calf.so library in your LADSPA directory"

So it's a LADSPA plugin, not an LV2.

Right?

Re: Ardour 2 and 5, with new Calf package

But the installer told me:

Libraries have been installed in:
/usr/local/lib/calf

and

ls /usr/local/lib/calf
calf.a calf.la calf.so

Re: Ardour 2 and 5, with new Calf package

ardour just uses the lv2 libraries. You can test it more quickly by using the "lv2ls" command which lists all the plugins the library finds. try in a terminal lv2ls | grep calf to check. the files should be in a *.lv2 directory and must have a manifest.ttl file in that directory AND that ...

Re: Ardour 2 and 5, with new Calf package

I can launch and see new plugins from 'Calf Jack Host', so I know they are installed.

And I have the environment set:

LV2_PATH=/usr/local/lib/calf

But neither Ardour 2 or Ardour 5 show the new plug-ins.

Any help?

Ardour 2 and 5, with new Calf package

Hi. I run Ubuntu Studio that has pre installed Ardour 2 with Calf plug ins. Now, I've just installed Ardour 5 that run ok, but only with the old calf plug-ins. So I compiled and installed the new Calf package (calf-0.0.60.tar.gz). But both Ardour versions (2 and 5) only see the old plug-ins. How can...
