Fails here, on the xorg edgers driver I have always used :( : Setting up linux-firmware (1.106~precise1~ppa1) ... Setting up linux-lowlatency-headers-3.8.0-24 (3.8.0-24.16) ... Re: Horrible xrun sound

Can you record it or something? It would help to know what sound you're hearing :)

Re: Sustain pedal

I've only tried mine in linuxsampler via carla, and it worked... Sadly my machine is broken so I can't test right now but I'm working on it. Once it's fixed... Can I assist you somehow? Can you give me specific tests to run?

Re: KX mini manual

Guys I'm so sorry I bailed on my commitment to documentation last week. Life had other plans for me, it seems. I'll be back on deck soon. I just wanted to apologise and thank you.

Re: Horrible xrun sound

Hey guys. I run on a low-grade system and can't avoid xruns, especially given what I do. Is there at least any way to avoid the accompanying high pitch "buzz" sound? xruns shouldn't cause a buzz. Do you get the buzz if you don't use JACK (use speaker-test app talking directly to your alsa...

You clearly have never seen me play my midi drums.
Nor were you around before VSTi and know how to do these things without the plugin doing much of it for you.

Keep trying homey you'll get there :)

Re: Drum sostware usage.

Cheers. As usual I disagree with almost everything hebjuzeb said. Some of it is differing opinion, some of it is just incorrect information he's supplied. He's lacking some education/experience (not hating on you heb', no offense is intended here, but it's true) and I'd take his advice with a grain...

Re: Enable S/PDIF PCM with JACK Audio by adding IEC958 in KM

It's probably a good thing he didn't use that guide, because that's for a different kind of card that works strangely. Every single SPDIF IO I've ever enabled in linux (dozens and dozens) has not required your process; only to unmute the digital outs as explained in this thread.... Still, it's good ...

Re: Drum sostware usage.

Depending on your typical workflow, various scenarios can be imagined. This.... So: Thanx for the fast replies, but i'm searching for a step-by-step guide because i never used the sound programming capabilities in linux. How do you do it in Windows exactly? Linux is very flexible in it's way of doi...

Re: KX mini manual

I'm with wolf on this one. Sorry I hadn't had time to comment sooner but I noticed it too. Compensation is the word. I had wondered why the page said minimising latency, and then told me about compensation. Minimising latency is a whole totally different subject....

Those grid patchbays are great.... When you don't have too many I/O channels. Then, they become horrible.

Anyone tried this stuff with Cadence? What for? Yeh I've done this a bunch. Our most common application so far is this: My mates are sitting in the home theater (where I am now) and playing oldschool arcade games on the big screen using a cool emulator called mednafen which just so happens to suppo...

Yup, that's how I do local monitoring when I'm using the net backend :)

Edit:
It's rewarding having this flexibility after the steep learning curve joining all the pieces involved
New guys should read this quote over and over. :D
