Re: Less sub-foruming, pleaae

Plenty of sub forums does not bother me, but feature to 'block' certain sub forums would be nice. For example, I am not interested to see discussion about Muse seq (I don't use it), and people who are purists might want to ignore threads in 'Runnin non-linux software'. The capability to exclude sel...

What Is the correct Path to indicate in reaper?
I had the same issue. The Sitala VSTi installs to /usr/lib/lxvst. Either add that to the REAPER path or copy the file to a location you're already using in REAPER.

Re: Noticeable noise - Casio digital keyboard - Audacity

If you're using USB MIDI, have you tried unplugging the USB cable? On my synth, I get noise from the USB cable if it's connected to an unpowered hub; the noise is reduced with a powered hub. I see your keyboard can be powered by batteries. Have you tried batteries vs. a power adapter to see if that ...

Re: trying to find Linux daily driver

Only you can answer your question as to what distribution is right for you. When I first started with Linux-based systems in 2006 I tried to create a custom, minimalist system and failed miserably; I didn't know enough at the time. I then installed Ubuntu and was happy. Since then I've used Xubuntu,...

Re: a plugin version of Kawai K1 now has linux version

Has anyone tried Edit mode? On my system, the characters in every drop-down list box are extremely small (and unreadable). Here's an example image:

Is this happening to anyone else?

Re: Music hosting sites: Let's talk about these, shall we?

Now I'm trying Bandcamp, but the payments didn't reach me because I read later that you have to have a PRO account together with a BUSINESS account from Paypal. I've used Bandcamp for 10 years and you do NOT need to have a Pro account with Bandcamp in order to get paid. I don't remember whether a P...

Re: Matchering 2.0

I installed the command line version of Matchering. It seems to work pretty well after I figured out what options I wanted. To preserve dynamic range, I use the --no_limiter option and avoid the --dont_normalize option. The --dont_normalize option works opposite of what I expected. Thanks to the Mat...

Re: studio monitors

I just got a pair of PreSonus Eris E5 monitors, which are in the same price range as what you mentioned. I don't know if they're the "best" in that price range but I like them a lot. They're front-ported, meaning that it's not as much of a problem if they have a wall located right behind t...

Argotlunar's GUI doesn't work properly at the moment (at least on some machines). The developer is aware of the issue and looking into it.

Re: seq 24 hydrogen zynadsubfx

I´ve been trying very hard the last 3 days to make "seq24 work with hydrogen and zynadsubfx". my distro is linux mint. So far i´ve been able with qjack to have sound from zynadsubfz and hydrogen at the same time but i can´t setup seq 24 to have sound. I'm assuming you know that seq24 does...

Re: not detecting VSTs

Rescanning solved my problem. Thank you! I had rescanned before but it didn't work. Perhaps I had a version conflict of some sort because I suspect that Carla wasn't finding the scanning tools (carla-discovery-native and python3-rdflib) before. Since I last scanned I've uninstalled and reinstalled C...

Re: not detecting VSTs

I'm having a related problem with Carla. I'm on Arch Linux (not using KXStudio) and so hope this isn't off-topic. A few days ago I updated a lot of software (for the first time in several months). Carla was among the programs that were updated (I now have version 1.9.8; 2.0-beta6). Carla now finds o...

Re: Visual metronome

I finally got round to trying jvmetro, albeit under FreeBSD. When I start it, all I get is a red window. I thought I might need to attach it to a JACK MIDI source but it didn't create any JACK ports. Today I went looking for a visual metronome, found this thread, and was able to get JVMetro to work...

Perhaps the snd_seq_midi module isn't being loaded. Here's an article I wrote about it:
