Re: Evening Jam Reloaded (Rock Track)

Thanks for the kind words. Drumgizmo is awesome. I am also a fan of Mixbus. Having started on analogue gear it suits me. Linux music has grown so much in the last few years.

Re: Evening Jam Reloaded (Rock Track)

That is some screaming guitar tone! What tools did you use on it? Is that a software amp or a hardware one? Do have a copy of your 2005 mixdown for comparison? The guitar distortion is an old zoom 505 pedal and a cry baby wah. The whammy effect is the zoom pedal. The guitar is a Les Paul copy I no ...

Evening Jam Reloaded (Rock Track)

A jam recorded some time pre 2005, originally with a drum loop. Not sure what I originally recorded on (I think Muse and Slackware Linux). The reloaded version was done with Harrison Mixbus on Ubuntu Studio. The drums were redone with Drumgizmo. https://soundcloud.com/user-991163669/evening-jam-relo...

Re: Using Hydrogen to play DrumGizmo's DRS Kit

Thank you for all of this. Just got Drumgizmo working in Mixbus with Hydrogen, very sweet. I was not impressed with it at first until I mixed it out into the 13 channels and did a little work with compression etc. After that it sounded great. Recording the midi input from Hydrogen was easy too.

Re: Easiest and best way to make rock drums

You can synchronise Hydrogen to Mixbus using jack and program the song along to the track. Then set the humanisation and export to an audio file and import into Mixbus. Use the black pearl or red zeppelin kits and make sure to tweak the velocity of the hits for a more realistic sound.

Re: Hello, G2500 developer here!

You might benefit from seeing how Mixbus package as they do an installer that works on different distro. They do have a free demo.

Re: The best Linux DAW's in 2019?

I am a recording musician (as opposed to a programming one, except some drums on hydrogen and a bit of keys for colour) so Mixbus has proved best for me. It not only sounds good, it has a sane selection of tools built into the mixer such as eq, compression/ limiting, high pass filter, a master bus l...

I am not a great singer, but you must learn to sing from your gut, not your throat. Lots of vids online

Re: Korg Nanokontrol2 Ardour/ Mixbus How To

How To: This method uses Alsa and works with Ardour and Mixbus. To alter assignments a three button mouse is required. Please make sure the Nanokontrol2 is started before starting Ardour. To assign any control, hold down CTRL and right click on the mixer control (e.g. a fader) with the middle mouse ...
