Jackd and FireWire ffado connection issues.
Has anything changed in recent times that effects the function of jack and FireWire interfaces? My setup stopped connecting a few weeks back I'm not sure why as it was working flawless for a few years previous. Only work around I've found thus far drop back to Jack1 then blacklist snd_dice in /etc/m...

Re: Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen - constant click noises but no xruns
So i got rid of the click by blocking snd_dice and reverting back to the ffado driver. So it must be tied up with the alsa driver. Maybe saffire pro 24 needs a patch in the quirks table?? I dunno?? I used the quirks table a few years ago to get yamaha usb interface working i assumed it was just for ...

Re: Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen - constant click noises but no xruns
Did anyone get to the bottom of this? I came here to report basically an identical problem. Faint click at regular intervals when playing around with midi keyboard. I'm using an older focusrite saffire pro 24 interface. I've swapped out 2 different midi keyboards no change. Switched between soft syn...

Re: Jack cannot start USB Soundcard
Is it something that could be resolved in the quirks-table.h? In the kernel folder there is a file called /usb/sound/quirks-table.h - its the alsa usb audio driver. It could be worth an email to the maintainer of that script Clemens Ladisch if the device is the right sort (class compliant) i think h...

Re: xruns, xruns, xruns!
Did you reach any final conclusions? I've had the same problem to what's been gone through already and noticed we got some hardware in common M-audio 1010 and nvidia graphics card. 2 senarios one with a debian 8 install and followed the linux audio wiki, compile and install -rt kernel 3.18, quicksca...

Re: CPU fan that revs every few seconds...
Definatly a kernel thing, but no idea what. Ive had similiar behaviour on my core 2 duo laptop between different versions of the kernel. infact 1 particular kernel didnt seemt o run the fan at all and my laptop would get pretty hot. Im getting pretty disapointed with the development of not just the...

Re: CPU fan that revs every few seconds...
Can you post your kernel config at pastebin or something? I've uninstalled that particular kernel it but it's maybe residing somewhere on my system? Where might one find the kernel config files? /boot and /usr/src only seem to have whats currently installed. If i can't can't find it i'll compile a ...

CPU fan that revs every few seconds...
I just compiled a fresh kernel from source (4.0.4), patched with 4.0.4 rt patch following the instructions here http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration#the_kernel and ended up with a system that the cpu fan revs every few seconds. Curious if anyone else has done the same and what i migh...

Aye!!! Its working a charm finally! The problem was different than what i first thought Qjackctl>setup>misc had to untick 'enable d-bus interface'.

Re: is this why jack/ffado locking up? IRQ sharing etc
Please post the output of the ffado-diag commando. You might need to install ffado-tools first. possum@Chris-ThinkPad-T410:~$ ffado-diag FFADO diagnostic utility 2.1.9999- ============================ (C) 2008 Pieter Palmers 2009-2010 Arnold Krille === CHECK === Base system... kernel version..........

is this why jack/ffado locking up? IRQ sharing etc
I been trying to get ardour3 or mixbus to work nicely on a Thinkpad T410 laptop using a focusrite saffire pro 24. It works sometime but its very unreliable, often crashing etc. I'm pretty sure i've covered most bases, built real time kernel, gone through realtimeconfigquickscan, installed rtirq scri...

I just seen this on the harrison site and i'm keen to give it a try. Can anyone tell us how big a download it is (for mixbus and linuxdsp plugins)? Oh and the sale has been extended to the 6th Jan.
Thanks, Chris.
Thanks, Chris.

Re: Support of audio interfaces under Linux
Sorry i haven't read all of the posts just flicked through it quickly, but Jeff i can say this of Linux audio support i can think of a few people who seem to know a hell of a lot about ALSA, Jack, Ardour between them and so they ought to when you think about it, and get this man they seem to be pret...
