I just recognized all this zero posting accounts with random nicknames from bots... You (we) have to update to a more recent version of phpbb. There are a lot of security and spam issues fixed. I (we) had the same problem with the forum.jacklab.net but now the situation is fine. If you need help, I'...

Very true. Whenever I have time and fun, I make a short trip to Groningen, which is not so far from my home to make a visit in a coffeeshop ;) and then have some nice days in Schirmonnikook.

Welcome Jean, maybe one day we meet there:)

Thats really true BUT: It is not so easy for a "simple" user to understand how all this different bugtrackers work and what to fill in the form. Or to make a difference between bug or missing skills. It is not so helpful for devels, if a noob post things like "can't get XY to work whe...

My first contact with Linux...

..was in 1999, read the german magazine c't about SLAB. They write something about a "perfect recording studio for Linux like Cubase" -so I bought a SUSE Boxed version. http://slabexchange.org/pix/mixslab_window.gif SLAB never worked for me. I was not the only one who was too stupid to use...

Thank you, zettberlin. Last year I made a amateurish video from the Linux Audio Conference 2007 in Berlin: This was the "unplugged live coding session" at the end of the LAC. the video is bad cutted, but the soundtrack is uncutted -you can hear the sound of Linux coders, hackin some csound...

hey! I don't really understand your statements. nobody says here that linux is a cathedral and that all is perfect under it. I for one was the first here to promote a couple of VSTi's! But I have to remind you of one simple fact : please read again the name of this forum "LINUXMUSICIANS"....

So many different views -but it looks like audioLinux is perfectly ready for the majority of you and there is no need for big improvements. The cathedral: "Linux is a free playground, free from the capitalist world and only self reflected." Yes I like software like GuitarRig, for me it is ...

Another big prob is IMHO that H2 doesn't synchronize the BPM in jack transport modus.

Ardour and Rosegarden aren't comparable - Arodur is perfect for recording (and mixing, but only with the Mac version, which supports AU) and Rosegarden is nice for notation and other midi stuff. Rosegardens audio part is not so nice, and Ardour have no midisequencer (I hear since 3 years: the next v...

so, in conclusion, if you feel linux is not good enough, there are plenty of alternatives out there. Why don't you wipe out your linux partition and allocate disk space for something else ... more creative ? Linux is good enough for audio -JACK is a great audio interface software. With WineAs...

maybe you're missing the linux spirit ? All jack apps are clients of this "host". I know I know, strictly speaking, I am talking quasi-nonsense. I miss Linux spirit.... ;) LOL For sure this is nonsense and the modular Unix paradigm doesn't help a lot, when you need to work productive and ...

keep a very positive atmosphere. For sure Ubuntu helps a lot of people to get into Linux, but it is not a "easy to use" distro - Mandriva and openSUSE have graphical configuration tools for nearly every aspect of the system -Ubuntu not. Yes, the Ubuntu community forums are great and an ex...
