Re: reverb echo delay ?

I can now also finally see the gui of the newer calf plugins. (newer then the lmms ones) Don't get too attached to them. Starting with Ardour 8.4, all plugins, which still use GTK2 for their user interface, and that includes the Calf plugins, will only have a generic UI. Since GTK2 is end-of-life a...

Common signal, mid only: M-signal from M/S mode Left signal without mid signal: Mix the left channel with the phase inverted M-signal Right signal without mid signal: Mix the right channel with the phase inverted M-signal I am not sure but maybe you get the left signal without mid signal as S signal...

Re: Digital Crackle with USB Audio Interfaces

Ah, the channel count must be 24x24 Do you have that many interrupts with your UltraLite AVB, too? I have nearly 16000 Interrupts per second using over 10% CPU of one core of my Core i7. It works fine even with a jackd buflen of 256 with smaller Qtractor projects but I think 16000 per second are a ...

Re: Upmix From 2-Channel Input and Output 3-Channels (Upmix)

If your setup in Carla (it looks like Carla) then you can use Carla as a plugin in your DAW. For example in Qtractor create a 3 channel output bus, insert the Carla plugin and route your Master out to it, e.g with an Insert Send.

I think it is free as in freedom, hence wireless and such might give problems with real hardware.

It's a good idea to switch wifi completely off by blacklisting its drivers when you do realtime audio processing. So for me missing wifi firmware blobs wouldn't be a problem.

Re: Sfizz build size of plugin

Hereby I conclude that the monetary cost of storage is of no relevance to my preference for smaller file sizes. Fair enough. In a day when there exist an abundance of saturation plugins, free and proprietary, I find myself spending hours developing my own saturation plugin. Why? I don't know. I am ...

Re: Some serious shit going on!

For me it's a vulnerability introduced with xz that no-one needs. What was wrong with gzip and its algorithm? Not to mention bzip2 that led to a little bit more compression but wasn't really needed. Then people though that xz is the new hot shit although it's technically worse. Why do kiddies always...

Re: Sfizz build size of plugin

As you can see, they are not stripped here, still smaller then yours. Maybe different compiler ? Linker ? Libs ? IDK.. Undoubtedly. When I build from source, all I understand about it is that following the build instructions should lead to a working plugin :) Boring. With the correct version of str...

Re: Use TWO pro grade firewire interfaces together?

I hear this often, but how big this sync problem is really? And if I would want to check my own 2 interface system for sync problems, how should I test it? See https://jackaudio.org/faq/multiple_devices.html Yeah, familiar with that. And it is partially outdated, not including zalsa_in/zalsa_out op...

Re: Use TWO pro grade firewire interfaces together?

Can I use two via firewire? Can I mix brands of interfaces? If not firewire, can I mix brands of interfaces with ADAT optical to combine two together? Combining two interfaces and get them in sync is not really possible, except if your computer sees only one interface that's extended with an ADAT i...

Re: Headphones calibration/eq flattening on Linux?

To avoid big latencies you should download the "minimum phase" impulse resonses from www.autoeq.app, not the "linear phase".

Re: Headphones calibration/eq flattening on Linux?

That works great with a 16 bit stereo impulse response and lsp-plugins-impulse-responses-stereo.

With an audio interface that has 4 output channels like Scarlett 2i4 I can feed an unequalized signal to the speakers (channel 1 + 2) and a signal for the headphones (channel 3 +4).
