Re: Hello from a Swedish hobby programmer

Hello! I've been interested in sound since childhood, but I'm not a musician. I've also been a hobby programmer since my teens, and experimented for some years with making my own filters/"effects". On and off, I've worked on making a command-line audio synthesis program. (Currently, it ba...

Re: Looking for versatile sampler plugin

You can have that amount of control with Linuxsampler and your text editor of choice. It's not too complicated to create SFZ-soundfonts. That would nearly work, but linux sampler is not a plugin, or can it be used so that all settings are in DAW project? How I have used it, it is just like with petr...

Re: Can I mute monitor output and line output of Scarlett Solo independently in alsamixer?

No. The Scarletts Solo, 2i2 and 2i4 don't have a builtin mixer/volume that can be controlled by the computer. The 2i4 has 4 outputs so you could mute them with a software mixer, e.g. jack-mixer. Headphones can be assigned with a hardware switch to 1+2 or 3+4. ⋅ Assign headphones to 1+2 and...

Re: Hello from WIsconsin,USA

If you do a lot with MIDI then you should try Qtractor. Its MIDI editor can help in lots of ways including displaying other tracks' notes in a dimmed form as a guide. The editor can automatically set, scale or vary parameters, creating ramps or edit controllers like the piano's hold pedal. Pedal pre...

Re: Guitarix doesn't "catch" my Guitar's sound but Audacity does

You must choose your behringer-card in qjackctl as your soundcard. You probably use the other one at the moment. It is not easily possible to use one card for input, the other for output, with jack. Use the behringer for input and output! (Yeah, I know that it's possible, but it's not easy, definit...

Great experimental stuff. Reminds me a bit of Brian Eno's "Equatorial Stars".
