Re: Unreliable Auto Start: Aloop Snd Daemon
Are you using "cadence-session-start --system-start" as your autostart command? Tried that, as well as: [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Version=1.0 Type=Application Name=Cadence session startup Comment=Cadence session startup Exec=cadence-session-start --maybe-system-start Icon=cadence Ter...

Unreliable Auto Start: Aloop Snd Daemon UPDATED
Hi all, After trawling the forum and seeing no apparent solution after endless hours mucking about with simple bash scripts, I have drawn a total blank... Cadence works reliably with jackdbus, alsa_in, alsa_out and a2jmidid processes all visible to see. The problem is the aloop snd daemon (alsa->loo...

Re: Video Editors
Thanks for your replies. I'm glad it's not just my system. Your experiences are much the same as my own with such editors I was beginning to wonder if video editors were compatible with optimized systems such as KX-Studio et al. What about Kdenlive? I have tried it very recently, but found it crashe...

Video Editors
Hi All. My Debian and Ubuntu installations have all the typical and well covered (on this forum), low latency optimizations afforded by the KX-Studio repo's. I have been using Openshot 1.4.3 to edit some phone footage (Moto-G 720p 30fps) that whilst intuitive to use, is a total crash-fest. Ev...

Re: Debian Jessie and KX Studio, anyone using this?
I'm currently running Debian (8+ beyond) and Ubuntu (15.04) installations on my PC. I have a soft spot for Debian, but it does need a bit more work compared with Ubuntu. Ubuntu has its ready to go low latency kernels in the main repositories. The Debian RT kernels are left at 250Hz, so not optimal f...

Re: KXStudio: apulse skype
Wouldn't you just install the PA binary and bridge it into JACK?
I don't need/use PA but there is a bridging option in Cadence.
Can't it run along side aloop-JACK?

Re: Personal OS Remaster Xrun Issues On Live USB Session(SOL
Thank you GMaq :) Sound advice. :D Sadly, it already has a grip on me, especially as I like Linux to impress interested parties I meet along the way, so I can't help myself at times. Glad you like the gem that is Systemback. I only discovered it myself recently by accident, trawling for solutions on...

Re: Personal OS Remaster - Xrun Issues On Live USB Session
glowrak guy, thanks for your suggestions. I did indeed wonder myself about the USB media performance but realized that it wasn't a logical probabilty due to the fact that the KX-Studio iso worked on it without xruns. I did go through the 'exciting fun' of 1) Re-nicing processes via system mon...

Personal OS Remaster Xrun Issues On Live USB Session(SOLVED)
Hi. I have remastered my Debian Sid/Experimental Xfce HDD installation using Systemback - http://sourceforge.net/projects/systemback/ (or for Ubuntu) https://launchpad.net/systemback . This great utility works a charm. Once done, I favour the 'debug' boot option at startup (no addional kernel boot p...

Re: How Do I Implement WYHIWYG Audio Track Export In Ardour
Makes sense. However, I tried varying both track and master volumes prior to exporting (not using the 'stem' menu option). In the export menu I had only master + solo'd track selected. Well, I'll have to look into this again some other time. For now I'll just record Ardour's output and trim the file...

Re: How Do I Implement WYHIWYG Audio Track Export In Ardour
Yes, I havn't ruled out doing just that myself. It seems crazy that I'd really have to do it that way though, given how feature rich Ardour is. If push comes to shove I will have little choice but to connect to Audacity as you describe. I am hoping that it's something weird with my Jessie/Sid set up...

How Do I Implement WYHIWYG Audio Track Export In Ardour 3?
Ok, I'm weary and my ears it seems must be deceiving me as I endlessly loop my efforts to the goal above. :x The work flow is like this: Video music source --> strip audio as wav --> Import wav as audio track in Ardour 3 --> repeat for remaining sources. Add EQ plugins to all imported tracks --> tri...

Re: skype cuts suport for alsa....and now?
I agree with the majority sentiment here. Skype (Microsoft) ditching ALSA is a bit piss poor. Also, not having a native 64 bit is, again the same. If it's really important to get/send a message use email or agree another VOIP with your closest contacts (easier said than done, but hey). JACK with Cad...
