Trouble with JACK after Recent Update
Hi - I am using KXStudio in Kubuntu 14.04 on a Dell Studio 1555, which I installed sometime ago using the KXStudio 14.04.2 Live-DVD on the KXStudio download website. All has worked well for a long time. Today, I used sudo-apt-get update and sudo-apt-get dist-upgrade, which I do every so often to ins...

Re: Why I'm giving up on KXStudio
falkTX - I have a great deal of respect for the work you do with KXStudio. Please do not be discouraged by the person who is giving up on your work as I think there are many more people who very much like it. I have had good experience with KXStudio and I am using the ISOs, which seem to work quite ...

Re: KXStudio Website has moved
I see why you chose to make changes after reading a bit about Sourceforge. At any rate, it appears to be a seamless smooth transition from my view point. I just performed updates and everything appears to work just like it always does. Many Thanks!

Re: How to prevent self-connections by Audacious
O.K. on the nonmixer idea, you will want try to make sure nonmixer is running before Audacious is started. You can tell Audacious internally to connect to some other ports besides the sound card output port, but if the ports are not there when Audacious runs, it will change back to the default, whic...

Re: How to prevent self-connections by Audacious
Audacious seems to makes its own connections internally. I don't know how to prevent Audacious from doing what it is doing and I don't use Ladish. However, maybe you could try writing a script that disconnects the unwanted connections. In terminal, you could use the jack_lsp command to list all conn...

Re: cpufreq widget
I'm kind of impressed that it's working for you. The way it's made is kinda poor, and will only work for Ubuntu (it was just a quick test to see if it was possible at all). I agree with the tooltip idea, I'll add it there. Frequency selection is possible too of course. As I said, the current code w...

Re: cpufreq widget
I just noticed your update to Cadence to change the cpu frequency. This is a very useful improvement and it makes sense to me for Cadence to change it. Thanks for adding the new capability. Also I noticed if I hover the mouse pointer over the Cadence icon when in the system tray, various status item...

Re: Call for Testing - Cadence pre-Beta
Cadence seems to be working for me so far. This is not a bug report, but a small feature request. I was wondering if you could recreate the cadence --minimized capability? I really like starting Cadence automatically at boot and having it minimized on start, which is no longer happening now. Many th...

I had the same trouble as the original poster. Looking forward to the updates, but I am in no rush - please get some sleep . . . I am about to call it a night, too!

Re: KXStudio documentation (preparations)
You may be right and your suggestion makes sense. I have used QjackCtl a little in the past and agree that the GUI layouts between the 2 programs are different, but the options are very similar.I think the "and" changes the meaning.

Re: KXStudio documentation (preparations)
Sorry for not replying sooner - I have been distracted by alot of things. I think the documentation is coming together pretty nicely. On your question from a while ago: I'm a bit confused here by your suggestion, do we need an extra 'can'? The extra "can" was one way of fixing my concern, ...

Re: KXStudio documentation (preparations)
Hi - I was just reviewing the new documentation pages and would like to offer my suggestions. Please take, modify or reject them as you think best. On http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net/_new/KXStudio:Applications.php It auto-connects itself to all JACK audio ports connected to the system output. I sugg...

ok, it all seems to comes down to libmlt5 Excellent! You have solved the mystery. I installed this missing file and the other two files that would not install are now installed and up to date. I did not have to do anything to install the missing files after installing libmlt5. I no longer have unin...
