Re: Wsynth presets (esp. in Qtractor)

@rncbc: It does help, thanks! I've started analyzing .qxt files that I created with Xsynth (which, in 64-bit, provides the dssi gui), and indeed, there are all of the Config page commands that can be added to the .qtx file for full control. (The Qtractor gui doesn't provide the Config page settings ...

Re: amsynth 1.9.0 released!

I just noticed on my LinuxMint 17.3 "Rosa" PC that amsynth in the distros is version 1.3.2-2. :(
I'm aware that my distro is now needing an upgrade to 19, but until a few months ago it was getting regular updates.

Thanks nixx! It's great to see some new developments for this synth!

Wsynth presets (esp. in Qtractor)

Hi everyone, using Wsynth in 64-bit has been a bit disappointing for me until now. It didn't provide a native GUI as the 32-bit version does, and as such, controlling parameters such as polyphony and monophonic control of legato, etc was inaccessible in hosts such as Qtractor. In other words, some o...

Re: MUSIC DISTROS

I'm currently using and enjoying Librazik. (Librazik-2) There are others that are good too; Ubuntu Studio is good, although perhaps not as "light" as I like. AVlinux is also very nice. So much good stuff to try out! :) If you are comfortable with installing your own RT or LL kernel, I supp...

Re: Best synths?

A new one-synth (linux only) challenge would be nice. It was done a while back with Dexed. Anyone interested?

My webpages for Dexed and Hexter have fixed links to Dave Benson's DX7 page... with LOTS of presets!

Re: AV Linux 2019 Update

Thank you for the update Gmaq! Recently I have started appreciating taking breaks when necessary: life is not only time in front of a computer. I also appreciated reading your forum post which mentions updating keys for repositories. This is something new to me, and I'm glad to have read it. (I thin...

Re: [ANN] Vee One Suite 0.9.3 - An Autumn'18 Release

I've been really enjoying Drumkv1 recently. Having separate setting control for each note is really nice, even if it takes a bit of time to set up when using lots of samples.
Thanks rncbc!

I have a serious bias for this stuff..

Re: KXStudio project is currently on a break

I think taking breaks is totally healthy and necessary for all people. Sometimes it seems like technology is pushing things too fast. Things never stay the same, always updates, etc.

A big thumbs-up to falkTX on his decision. He's REALLY helped linux audio come a long way, and he deserves it!

and voila! Back up and running! :) I'm glade to hear that. :) So the power outage didn't have anything to do with it. Thank God! I'm pretty sure it was the culprit. But as long only the indexes are corrupted, you are lucky. I've had 2 month ago a similar out-take, just, my disk greets me with "...

Re: Power Outage here :( (solved!)

Is this telling me the disk has been corrupted? Is the HDD still useable? Usually that is repairable by fsck, but you need to run it manual. It's tell you the file system on your disk is corrupted, not the disk itself. you could run in BusyBox fsck -a /dev/sda1 to repair it. Hi tramp, thank you for...

Power Outage here :( (solved)

Hi all,
we had a power outage last night; PC was on at the time. Tested it this morning and can't boot; I got this message:

Video about digital audio quality (ie.stairsteps don't exist)

Hi everyone, Sometimes I come across a video that I like so much that I watch it more than once, especially if I think there is information that bears repeating. I came across a video like this, by Monty of ziph.org, about the quality of digital audio. I'd love to hear all your perspectives! :) Here...
