Re: Kx studio 2021 remix ( debian bullseye based + artwork and repo kx studio + kde plasma)
PS. I think your remix is a good idea and there are probably many users who will gladly use it.
I also expect that compared to the work you have already done, properly tagging different parts of it as "non-free", or informing users about those will be an easy task.

Re: Kx studio 2021 remix ( debian bullseye based + artwork and repo kx studio + kde plasma)
according to your reasoning then all distributions in the world of debian and related remixes are then illegal? because if so then it is necessary to inform the millions of users around the world who use it !!! That was not my reasoning, please read it again. The GPL is very specific about freedoms...

You don't. Just run pipewire and it acts as JACK server.thetotalchaos wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 9:33 pm How can i make pipewire to jack & jack to pipewire bridges?

Re: Kx studio 2021 remix ( debian bullseye based + artwork and repo kx studio + kde plasma)
The term "Free" is ambiguous, while "public domain" is very specific. It can be confusing at first, especially when one is used to have access to free/libre software from GNU/Linux distributions that can be remixed without worrying about such details. If we want others to respect...

Re: Pipewire, Ardour, and Arch - Fully working as of July 2021
So finally got around to trying it again. And the annoying issue I have had on jack where whenever i go below 64 in buffersize i just got a constant stream of xruns. With pipewire I can now record with 32 no problem. Cool. Cool cool cool. Usually PipeWire uses a different period size for the ALSA d...

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com
There was a similar dispute regarding linuxaudio.org years ago. Some community members wanted to introduce advertisements (to benefit linux audio) and it was voted against. Well, things looking a bit different for the LAC pages, don't they? Indeed. In the past there used to be at least some mention...

I can perfectly ...

Re: harrison lv2 plugins with carla
To elaborate and keep you guys in the loop: Since it was the UI that sent the messages, then the UI knows the correct value to display. Is what we're discussing. The harrison XT plugins (and also a few others) do not make this assumption. The UI only makes a request to the host. The host may or may ...

Re: Ardour issue - reverting to wrong patch
Does it always change at the same position in time? If so, maybe the MIDI files includes another patch-change, or perhaps the midi-file has multiple channels and you only change the patch for one particular channel? Also check CC, perhaps there's something else in the .mid that you've imported. (&qu...

Re: Ardour crashes when loading session with plugins
Backtrace says it is guitarix' GxCabinet that crashes here when it is instantiating the (fftw based) convolver. A shot in the dark: It's most likely https://github.com/FFTW/fftw3/issues/16 . You could try a binary from ardour.org which does ship a recent version libfftw that is not affected by this ...

Re: Ardour crashes when loading session with plugins
Make a backup of the session, then open it in safe-mode. Delete half of the plugins, save, re-open and check if it loads.. repeat until you found the plugin(s) that causes crashes.

Re: Ardour 6.0 released
I'm sorry, there is nothing to debate here, which is why I was not responding. If you have a quick look at Ardour's session format you will realize that it's basically just serialized C++ class state. It is not an interchange format nor was it ever designed to be one. It changes whenever C++ class i...

Re: Ardour 6.0 released
Desired behavior would be, imo, newer ardour opens older ardour session file - does nothing on open, much less unprompted renaming on session save the user is given the option to save in the original (old) format, loosing some settings, or to save in the format of the ardour version running. There ...

Re: Ardour 6.0 released
5.12 was released just before this: https://community.ardour.org/node/15298 The correct subject is "Development on Ardour 6 commenced" 6.0-pre0 tag was made early on in the 6.x development process because Ardour is undergoing a substantial rework. During the "-pre" phase of devel...
