Re: LibrePlanet conference looking for good FLO-licensed music for conference livestream
I understand why people can feel that software is more utilitarian and music is more personal. I do invite people to keep in mind that CC licenses include a clause saying you can tell people they must remove reference to you from some derivative. Also, as with software, we can fail to anticipate wha...

Re: LibrePlanet conference looking for good FLO-licensed music for conference livestream
"All Rights Reserved" is "most prudent" in the same way that proprietary software licensing is "most prudent". In most cases, licensing makes no difference one way or another because nobody is going to do anything different, you get ignored or get the music played eithe...

LibrePlanet conference looking for good FLO-licensed music for conference livestream
Hi everyone, I see lots of back log of people making and posting music, but it's not easy to find licensing information or know much about the styles and options. The LibrePlanet conference in March hosted by the FSF https://libreplanet.org/2023/ wants to find more Free/Libre/Open music to play betw...

Re: Audio warping / stretching plugin
@d.healey I'm not asking about the effect in general. Despite being in Audacity, nearly all the controls are missing. It's a tiny tiny default version of the whole thing. The whole thing is http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/ and it's already included in KXStudio, but that version has a ...

Re: Audio warping / stretching plugin
Awesome! I just tried PaulXStretch, got it to work through Wine in Carla. Nice to not have to separately load audio into regular Paulstretch.
Anyone know about any prospect for anyone to pick up PaulXStretch and update it until we can have a native Linux build?

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen mixer driver
tobin, you've verified that you do hear each source when you set that as the output directly? So, you set output 1 to PCM 1 and you hear it correctly?

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen standalone mode
EDIT: Nevermind about my claim that the kernel was at fault for losing audio output on the 18i8. I now got the problem again despite reverting to 5.14
I think it's a TLP issue or something

Re: Focusrite Scarlett 2nd and 3rd Gen standalone mode
Don't want to derail this thread, but I installed the updated kernel, and now I have times where audio output just stops, no sound until I restart my 18i8 3rd Gen. With the prior release of your kernel (though somehow I got a low-latency kernel, so maybe that was from another source), I did not have...

Re: What to use to dynamically do spectral filtering visually?
Neat, that's the right direction. I'd more wish for a tool like Audacity that could show a preloaded file vs something doing real-time processing, though both have value. Anyway, I did finally figure out that I had some filter in Carla that was filtering out the spectrum analyser, that's why I didn'...

Re: What to use to dynamically do spectral filtering visually?
I haven't played with glBars looks neat.
To be clear, I'm looking for ways to at least approach the sort of thing this proprietary software does, shown in this video:

Re: What to use to dynamically do spectral filtering visually?
I have the KXStudio repos, and I can't figure out how to run the LSP spectrum analyser. It's not showing in Carla or as a command-line program.
Anyway, does the analyser do filtering? I wouldn't expect that.

Running the new release, all is fine at this point.

Re: What to use to dynamically do spectral filtering visually?
Okay, that's better, it's kinda close. However, because it's live, I don't get to just have a full spectrogram that I can just look at (as I would in Audacity). Also, it's not quite the starkness I'd like where the stuff filtered out is grey or mostly gone and the stuff let through is still clear. A...

Re: What to use to dynamically do spectral filtering visually?
That EQ does the filtering just fine, and it shows the energy levels roughly, but that's not a spectrogram like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectrogram#/media/File:Spectrogram_of_violin.png I want that sort of spectrogram and to then have a movable filter that is operating against that visualizati...

What to use to dynamically do spectral filtering visually?
I want to have a spectrogram, have a movable filter that limits the output to a frequency range, and see it. I mean, like for videos or educational purposes, I could be seeing a part of the spectrogram being colored and the rest greyed out, and hear only that section. And I want to be able to on-the...
