Thank you for trying the Qjackctl thing... No problem, after all a GUI is sort of clutter for a script like this, I'll just learn to configure Jack from the terminal... Thank you for doing the test.

Re: Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)?
Thank you so much everybody!!! @LAM, your solution got this thing working; I had to select android as default source, then run your script, then connect MicOut to Reaper's inputs, and now the track records the Android's mic... Victory! Unfortunately it has a whopping delay of 4 seconds, so after rec...

Re: Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)?
@Bluebell Thank you for this other great suggestion... Unfortunately, with arecord -l I only get **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC269VC Analog [ALC269VC Analog] Subdevices: 0/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 This doesn't seem to me like something USB c...

@erlkönig Thank you for the idea, udev is something I've hardly used and I've always been curious to harness more its power... Perhaps your suggestion is more of the "stage 2" kind, "once you have it working, optimize it"... I'm still at stage 1 I'm afraid, trying to have somethi...

Re: Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)?
@Impostor Thank you for the suggestion of zita-ajbridge, although, out of what you yourself say and even quote about the USB devices, I don't think in this case it's even worth trying (or is it?) Good to know for the future that its sound quality is better, by now the sound quality I get with Audios...

Re: Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)?
@LAM Thank you for the script, it looked promising, when I ran it it creates a Mic_Out box, but connecting it to the DAW does nothing, I don't know what is it connecting (I haven't managed to understand PA yet and I'm not really sure what the script does...) I didn't know about RaySession either, I'...

Re: Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)?
All of Pulseaudio's output will be routed through pulseaudio-jack-sink. No individual connections for pulseaudio apps will be available. In jack's connection manager you must simply route the output of pulseaudio-jack-sink into your DAW. That routes all of pulseaudio's sound into your DAW, indiscri...

Re: Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)?
If you use PulseAudio JACK Sink I assume I use it, I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.3., which runs with Pulseaudio, and when I start Jack, a box "PulseAudio Jack Sink" appears in Catia (what I don't get is a box showing the tablet's mic). I'm thus assuming Jack Sink is enabled by default in this syste...

Ideas to make Jack detect a tablet's microphone connected via USB (and present in Pulseaudio)? [ SOLVED ]
My laptop's internal mic broke, so I looked for a way to replace it with the mic of an old Android tablet, connected via USB (it's very convenient to have this microphone always at hand without having to assemble anything when you have an idea, etc). I found this project: https://github.com/gdzx/aud...

Re: Flood Society -- "I Am A Man (Fifth Horseman Remix)"
Rainmak3r Glad you found the track enjoyable. You're right, there's only so much one can get away with samples and Midi. Hopefully I will get myself a proper guitar at some point. Thank you for listening... Impostor Glad you like it, and thank you for the feedback about the drums; maybe I'll try so...

I tried to emulate those commemorative CDs from the 90s where you had t...

Re: Finding Yoshimi (musical) instruments.
What version of Yoshimi where you running and exactly what was the problem?
It was version 2.1.2.2. As for the errors, it's been a while and I don't remember everything exactly. A lot of problems that made working with it not productive. For example, the plugin did not open embeded...

Re: Finding Yoshimi (musical) instruments.
I must jump in and correct this! It is definitely not a fork of Yoshimi, it is a rebuild of Zyn 2.5.x Whoopsie! I'm sorry if I made a big blunder. I'm just not as technically proficient as many people in this forum, particularly developers of some of the software I use and for which I'm very very t...

Re: Finding Yoshimi (musical) instruments.
An option I'd like to suggest would be using Zynfusion instead. It's a fork of Yoshimi I was forced to move to because Reaper poopooed on Yoshimi, it has the same sounds as Yoshimi, as far as I know, but also a very clear selector menu, with three columns with categories and subcategories, and a tex...
