Re: KXStudio Problems
Right now I recommend using XFCE, the one UbuntuStudio is using. (You can pick the UbuntuStudio 12.04 ISO when it's out). KDE is kinda bloated if you don't apply the tweaks I'm working on right now (The kubuntu cd has too much too that is unneeded for us). If I'm reading you right and I want to use...

Re: [Solved] Does LMMS recognize M-Audio external devices?
Found out from somebody that LMMS does recognize M-Audio external devices, but as far as I can tell, only for each individual track (Actions for this track > MIDI > Input/Output), not globally, which is kinda lame IMO.

[Solved] Does LMMS recognize M-Audio external devices?
I have a MidiSport Uno MIDI interface device that LMMS doesn't seem to want to recognize. Couldn't find much on the net that says if it can or not.

Re: KXStudio Problems
low-latency and realtime are not available for your installed [k]ubuntu version. I'm focusing on 12.04 now (the ubuntu version about to be released in 2 days), and rt/lowlatency kernels are ready for it. hmm, for a new setup, 12.04 would be much much better. I won't update or support any older vers...

KXStudio Problems
Just loaded KXStudio up on top of Kubuntu (can't recall which version offhand). First, I'm new to most of these Linux music apps, so I apologize in advance! Second, what I'm trying to do most with these music apps is use TuxGuitar, play midi tracks with the internal sounds and an external synth modu...

Any apps for finding Keys & Scales for a song?
I'm learning to solo on guitar and an app like this would be really helpful. Are they any?
If not, any websites you recommend that show you how to?

Re: Can I turn my PC into a mini PA?
Short answer is yes, but do you have an appropriate output from your guitar amp? Such as a recording or headphone output? Fortunately my newer guitar amp has Aux In (RCA), so I'm able to plug my computer into my amp and listen through my amp's headphone jack. But that got me curious if you can do t...

Can I turn my PC into a mini PA?
Curious if it's possible to run an instrument amp through the computer so I can play along with my mp3 or midi music while listening to everything through my computer headphones.
I'm currently using a laptop running Linux. Thanks.
