Re: Intro (to the album I'll never publish!)

This is good stuff. You can really feel the energy build. You are going to have to make a really good song to follow this intro!

Yes, you should absolutely find a bass ;)

Re: Another New Recruit

Welcome. Having some Linux experience and also some music experience before bringing the two together is the ideal recipe. You are going to have a blast!

Re: A question about reverberation effect

Your commentary is interesting and thoughtful, but it's not clear what are you trying to achieve. It doesn't make much sense to evaluate reverb plugins and say one is good or better than others. Reverb has one of two functions: to create a perception of instruments inside different locations in a ph...

Re: Awen - Album: Chosen Cards

This is going to take a while to fully digest (there is a lot going on here) but it is quite good. I like the variety between the pieces, the instrumentation and the energy behind the performances. Looking forward to spending some more time with it.

Re: Do any Guitar pedal makers offer Linux support?

If you want to add IRs or update the firmware, then you'd need to be connecting it to a computer (and in that case, OSX or Windows but not Linux). But that's exactly what I wanted to do! The Radar has a few presets that are OK, but I have a collection of IRs that I prefer. Yeah, I can borrow ...

Re: Do any Guitar pedal makers offer Linux support?

Looking at guitar pedals and software that allows modifying presets/programming and/or allows authoring it, seems only Mac and Win are supported. Are there any exceptions to this? I just wanted to say this is a great question. Seeing USB ports on pedals and amps is a frustrating trend. I got a Mooe...

Re: New here, first question on how to record of tiny amp?

I am really curious about a Fender amp with no speaker output. That doesn't sound right. Can you share some detail about what you have? Much of the benefit of using an amp is the way it drives the speaker and how you mic the cabinet. If you're not doing that, consider just using Guitarix! You'll hav...

Re: casette recording

I really can't think of anything to improve here, it's lovely as-is. Thanks for sharing it.

The sound is really enjoyable as well, either from the tape quality or the lack of editing (or both). It's refreshing to hear a real performance from start to finish. Very soulful and sincere.

Emulating a style is a super fun project, especially when you inevitably end up with something that includes your own personality. Very catchy and nice playing!

...and then there was that silly dragonfly project that for months served as a huge distraction from actually making any music. Well, we are lucky for that distraction :) Seriously, that was a huge accomplishment on your part and I hope you have taken some pride and satisfaction in it. As for the r...

Re: Matching Equalizer

Looking forward to seeing what I can do with this one! A potentially cool feature would be a "reverse" button which would create an opposite profile. It might be a useful starting point for giving space in the mix to two similar sounds. I do that manually with EQ a lot if I am doubling gui...

Re: SCARLETT 3RD GEN just announced

With all due respect, but why would anyone want to own a product like that? Even if you don't use Linux. Hardware that requires special (proprietary) drivers and/or software to work is bound to become obsolete before it is "end of life cycle" for the user. I agree and I have shared that o...

Re: Rated Blue - Joy

This is a killer arrangement. That long intro with the crazed bass is sublime, then the big chords come in like BLAM. Stellar singing too--I know it's hard to hear ourselves objectively but that is a 100% solid rock vocal, no issues there. You pushed it pretty hard but it sounds great--my bluetooth ...
