Re: Toscanalyzer
I believe my final mixes are quite good (for my equipment at least) and I spent many years learning how to master electronic music after the final mixdown. But then one day a friend of mine loaded up my final mix (before mastering) into his "AAMS" on Windows and picked a preset similar to ...

Re: MidiLoops - aleatoric midi sequencer
Thanks !! Will try later tonight.StudioDave wrote:It needs Pure Data to work, which means you install Pd, open it, then launch the MidiLoops.pd file.
You don't need to know anything else about Pd to use the looper, but you do need to install it.
Best,

Re: Open Source section
Wow, brummer. why are you getting so worked up ? I'm not "against" such a section, I just don't see the point of having it. Not everyone is as fixated on using "free" software as you are. And yes, I also don't see a point to have an Android section but it's not my forum. I just t...

Re: was/is (win)vst excluded from Ardour 3?
@slowpick: Basically VST support was not very stable for me. Only one out of 1 plugins worked at all. All this work and then it doesn't even function, hehe. Well, it's beta so I won't complain.
It uses Vestige headers which may actually be the problem but I don't know ...

Re: Wiki update: System Configuration
I know it's already listed as compatible but I just wanted to drop a note that I bought an M-Audio Oxygen 25 (3rd gen) and it works perfectly fine under Linux (USB bus powered). As a side-note: The Oxygen 25 also works perfectly with the iPad.

Re: Open Source section
I can see what you mean brummer. However, I disagree. Linux is about choice. Making music is about being creative. It is my choice to use a propietary software to make music under Linux if I so desire and if I feel that it helps me being creative. I have this freedom because Linux gives it to me. I ...

Re: was/is (win)vst excluded from Ardour 3?
Well, myat first ./ardev didn't work but my installed version also wouldn't work. After installing, however, the ./ardev version started to work, too - and it would load VST. After that the installed version worked, too. I'm pretty sure this is not intentional - I also had to manually copy some file...

Re: was/is (win)vst excluded from Ardour 3?
Works for me now. I installed it and played with ./ardev then it started working. You may also need to add that path to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig (provided you have the binary there).

Re: Possibly corrupt audio files
Did you ever mess about with encryption ? That might explain things. Some things to try: 1) run the "file" command on them from a terminal: file "Some Mp3.mp3" and see what it reports. Maybe your files got saved in a format that is not the same as its extension ? (i had a bunch o...

Re: ArdourVST on Oneiric 64-Bit
The reason I want to get dssi-vst (and its vsthost standalone app) working is very simple: FST has issues with some VSTi (for example NI Massive): I cannot use any of the GUI controls. However, the same plugin works fine with the vsthost from the dssi-vst package and in Reaper. I don't know where to...

Rename the LV2 .tar.gz to .arj and it will extract fine. I still have the same issues under Ubuntu, though :/
