Re: Can't get guitarix in the chain
And then there is a change in the whole thing. My 14 year old PC froze often. The graphics-card is the problem (when it froze I could log in with ssh and use the PC further) My wife forged me to buy new stuff. So here I'm posting with all new pieces including a new case. (the case was falling apart ...

Re: Can't get guitarix in the chain
Thank you both! I have to study those posts again, in a few days. I'm getting busy with other problem stuff....taxes  What was most important for now was that the 404 could do what I hoped and wanted. What asbak said: be sure to stop pulse. pulseaudio --kill did not work. So I did it the simpl...

Re: Can't get guitarix in the chain
Thanks for help. Still clean guitar sound. Everything you say is ticked, as far as I understand. If I klick on 'engine--> jack ports', I get a popup screen. If I tick more options I get lines in patchbay that I don't want. Directly from capture 1 to playback 1 etc. Ensure that your Capture *L input ...

Can't get guitarix in the chain
With my former soundinterface (E-MU 1616) I could simply put my guitar in, make some connections in Qjackctl putting Guitarix*) in the chain and I had the guitarsound with effects at my PA-speakers or headphone. Now I've just get a Behringer UMC404HD, but I don't get it done. Whatever I try the soun...

alternative to Clam-Chordata?
I have searched google, and here at the forum, still not found it.
Hopefully somebody knows it: Is there an alternative to Clam-chordata?
I did not use it much, needed it now but it is gone out of the repo's from Debian.

Debian 8 comes with pulse
Hello, I do have an E-Mu 1616 ( pci) soundcard what works under ALSA. Yesterday evening I installed Jessie, but this has standard Pulse. What is the best option, delete all pulse-packkages and install alsa, or is it better to leave pulse and install alsa? Or... is it better to do a netinstall and no...

Re: Transpose music "live"
Yes, you understand it right. I hoped there was a simple way. But the fact you will feel the guitar trough the body is a good point. That will be sure disturb the sound you 'hear' To record the song there are indeed options enough. In Ardour it is a build in possibility. ( transpose) This works. I h...

Re: Transpose music "live"
I will try it out. Sad that the audio quality degrade. In fact is that with playing the song one note lower or tuning the guitar lower a sound not always great for the sound. I will see what happen. ( otherwise I have to take singing lessons, maybe there is hope) Anyway:Thanks for the group-name of ...

Transpose music "live"
Hello, I have searched but cannot find what I need. ( Not even knowing if it is possible) I can record a song playing guitar in Ardour. Than I can play it back and transpose it one note down so it fits my voice better. I am looking for a possibillity to play the guitar and sing the same time. So the...

Re: How about openSuse?
Thanks for the input. Thanks for the link Jeremy.
It seems there is not much experience with openSuse.
I think I give it a change at a partition at the computer. I will see were it ends or the trouble start.

How about openSuse?
If I search the forum, I do not find much about openSuse.
I do like openSuse a lot for the normal things, but how good is openSuse for music? ( with XFCE or LXDE of course)
Any experiences here?

Re: SOS I need a ROCK SOLID distro!
[ AVLinux, is based on an older, therefore more thoroughly tested linux, and is a great choice. Laptops waste money which could have gone for superior desktop technology and software. You could have had a well warn record button, instead of portable producers despair. But if kids want to be cool, i...

Re: SOS I need a ROCK SOLID distro!
Not one distro, or windows or mac will do exactly everything you want the way you want it. But buy a car, none is perfect matching your wishes. I have tried several distro's, but my E-mu 1616 is giving the trouble. In ubuntu and all the distro's wich are build on it it will not work. In openSuse it ...
