Re: Bitwig Studio - Have you guys seen this?
An unofficial Bitwig forum has already been launched if anyone's interested. I saw it posted on their facebook. I spoke with the admin, and if we get enough Linux users over there he'll implement a dedicated Linux section on the board. So if you want to contribute just head over to http://www.bitwig...

Bitwig Studio - Have you guys seen this?
A new DAW is about to drop. A group of ex-Ableton Live employees have splintered off to make their own company. Bitwig studio is their new baby. The good news? It's multiplatform, including support for Linux. I'm not affiliated with them or anything, just thought this to be newsworthy. It may not be...

Re: Build or Buy
Well, here's a build I threw together on Newegg recently. I picked out the parts with silence in mind. This is only the basic components, I haven't added any drives or anything to this list. Any thoughts? A good build? Not so much? Suggestions? Ideas? Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?...

Build or Buy
Did you build or buy the computer you use for music production? I love building PCs, but I've never built a dedicated Linux machine before, much less one for audio. Any tips for selecting components (i.e. manufacturers with good linux support)? On the other side, any pre-built workstations you'd rec...

Re: Audio interface
Yeah, it looks like that probably explains it. Oh well. This setup is not a permanent solution or anything, so it's no loss. I'm only testing the linux audio waters for the moment. Trying to get used to the new environment and develop a new workflow before I switch completely. For now I'm still using...

Audio interface
Anyone have any luck getting an Mbox to work in Linux? I've got an Avid mbox mini 3, and it works just fine in normal desktop situations. Linux recognizes it right out of the box in fact. But jack doesn't see it. Then I found a driver online someone wrote for the mbox 2, I thought why not? It sort o...

Midi Controller and Jack
Hey guys. Having a bit of trouble getting my midi controller, an oxygen25, to work in linux. I'm running Xubuntu 11.04. I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking, and I'll feel stupid after this, but here's my problem. When I plug it in, it shows up in Jack under the Alsa tab, but not the midi ...
