Re: Update broke IK multimedia plugins

As for Product Manager not being able to download/install plugins, there is a workaround (which I tested only for Amplitube 5 MAX v2 and ToneX MAX). You need a Windows installation for it though. [snip] It is a lot easier to just go to their web site, log in, go to "Your Products" page, a...

Re: IK Multimedia JavaScript error

There is a new version of the Product Manager (1.1.0) and now it seems to work with wine staging 8.21. (Fingers crossed it will keep working...)

Sorry for the noise.

Re: IK Multimedia JavaScript error

A JavaScript error sounds like maybe something changed in the wine-gecko browser emulation layer. Hmm... Thanks for the pointer. I still do not know how to address the problem, though. On the other hand, maybe I was incorrect about the version I was running before. I downgraded to 8.12 (instead of ...

IK Multimedia JavaScript error

I had the IK Product Manager running without problems until today. Now I am getting "A JavaScript error occurred in the main process" when trying to run it. Oddly enough, I was able to run it until yesterday. I was using wine-staging 8.15 and today updated it to 8.21. But now, downgrading ...

New guitars!

I've rerecorded the guitar parts! The parts are mostly the same, but the solo is new and the rhythm guitars have been double tracked. I like the sound of the guitars better now. The rest of the mix (and all other parts) are basically the same. Here it is: Perpetual Love (New Guitars) For more detail...

Re: Perpetual Love

@ Finotti: You're pretty hard on yourself  ...the notes and vocals are on key, there are plenty of skills on display, I don't hear anything 'wrong' with the mix, the parts are not at war with each other... Thanks for listening to it and for your very kind comments! :-) I work very hard on th...

Perpetual Love (remix and new guitars)

Here is the remix of the second (and last) song from our 1996 demo: Perpetual Love . (The first was When You Go Away , also posted here.) This one was written (music and lyrics) by the bass player (Piera Bergamo) and is a lot more representative of our style. As usual for this band, the bass and dru...

Re: When You Go Away

I can't give you a very good technical advice because mastering is something I never do, I can only tell you as a listener that vocals could be emphasized a bit more. Thanks! I will try to revisit it soon. And thanks jeanette_c for the detailed suggestions! I've already tried a few of those, but wi...

Re: When You Go Away

Thanks Basslint for listening and for the feedback! The mix is very nice but it could use some mastering. Thanks for pointing it out. I did try mastering it... Could you be more specific on what I could try to do to improve it? Liked the proggy parts at the end, like the best AOR :D You people playe...

Re: When You Go Away

Thanks glowrak guy for taking the time to listen and comment! And thanks for the positive reinforment! I didn't remember the drums, which could mean they were basically perfect? I've heard some big-name drummers go wildly distracting on a simple nice song, when there was no need to. Just because we ...

When You Go Away

Here is a remix of an original song from 1996: When You Go Away (2023 Remix) . It is a (cheesy) ballad, which we hoped could helps us "make it". (I deeply regret having chosen this one for the recording, as we had much better songs. But we thought this one was more "accessible".....

Re: what sequencer to teach my kid?

Err, yeah I don't know why I wrote sequencer. I meant recorder, and my question makes more sense in that context. I feel embarrassed. Firstly, no need to feel embarrassed! We all mix things up every once in a while. (At least I do...) In that case, I recommend Ardour. And, it is also a sequencer, s...

I would go for MusE, because it's very easy to pick up and has easy-to-use audio and MIDI capabilities. Else, Ardour.

I second this!

Re: Tamgamp.lv2 - yet another guitar amplifier simulator

In the meantime, Guitarix and related plugins have been in heavy developement, if you start with MetalTone.lv2, add gx_chorus.lv2, and most any delay and reverb, you'll have a good time. No compiling needed. Cheers I could never get a tone I really liked with Guitarix, although I am sure it was my ...

Re: Celtic percussion loops

Sorry for the delay in replying... I forgot to subscribe. (I am used to it being automatic when you create a topic...) I have some bodhran loops I recorded for a sample library. I can share some if they would be suitable? That would be great! Feel free to send me a PM if you don't want to share with...
