Re: Which windows drum software runs well under wine?

Addictive Drums works really well with wine. You can also use it with Ardour 3 (or any other linux sequenser) with Festige. I'd love to be able to use Addictive drums but i'm having a problem with the installer. If i recall correctly, when i had the demo running before, it installed directly from t...

Which windows drum software runs well under wine?

I have been pondering using some Windows drum software (addictive drums, ezdrummer, etc) in Linux. My idea would be to run it and sequence it in Reaper, as Reaper runs well under wine. Then i would export my stems and import them into Mixbus and do my recordings there. So in short, i want to see if ...

Re: guitarix2-0.25.1 LV2 amps included

It is great that you mention the issue here, so it could hopefully be solved soon. :) I'm pretty sure it was my fool to didn't make clear that the --optimization flag couldn't be used by distributors, otherwise, the KXStudio repro is a excellent choice to get (ubuntu)binary’s  (p- if you comp...

Re: guitarix2-0.25.1 LV2 amps included

unfortunately the amd 64 build use -msse4.2 your CPU support just ssse3 needed is ssse2 which would be no problem in your case. I appreciate the help but that doesn't mean a whole lot to me :) I do have them compiled on another partition on the computer. Just thought it would be handy to use the KX...

Re: guitarix2-0.25.1 LV2 amps included

I have look at the build log and see that the --optimization flag is set, that is great, on the one side, but it has a downside as well. This flag optimize the resulting binary for the CPU which it is build on, here on the build server it leads ( in the i386 build) under others to the flags -mmmx -...

Re: guitarix2-0.25.1 LV2 amps included

hm, too late for the KXStudio ISO release later today... :( @brummer: Does the 0.25.0 work fine in current hosts? I have Ardour2 and Qtractor 0.5.7 in there. EDIT: btw, happy new year! Hi FalkTX, Just to let you know. I tried out the latest version of Guitarix you have in your PPA. I'm having probl...

Re: Maybe you know equivalents of these VSTs?

I'll give this a go - EQ - LinuxDSP's black eq is the best i have seen if you want visuals. It has 10 bands and you can drag the eq curves around. Sounds very good too. If you're looking for a free one with visuals i found lv2fil to be good although you can't drag the curve around, you adjust the pa...

Re: LADSPA plugins in Ardour . . . What does this button do?

Thanks for the reply. I kind of guessed that's what it was but i still have no idea how to use it :P How do you find out what shortcuts the plugins use? What kind of functions can you use? The shorcuts depend on the plugin itself, whatever it defines for himself. my guess is that that option most o...

Re: LADSPA plugins in Ardour . . . What does this button do?

Well i can guess what it does but how do i utilise it? It's something i've never really thought about until the other day. Cause i've never used it, it's never bothered me but now it does. I can't find out much on how to use it. Anyone? that is for plugin custom GUIs. ie, a GUI might want ctrl+C ke...

Re: Alsa_in, alsa_out questions. . .

Ok, just tested it there. Here is what i am using to connect the mixer up to alsa_in - /usr/bin/alsa_in -d hw:1 -n3 Jack is set up at 1024 frames (i use hardware monitoring), 2 periods at 44.1 sample rate. Distro is Dreamstudio on quad core (2.40GHz) with 3 GB RAM. I have just done a test and it's r...

Alsa_in, alsa_out questions. . .

Just wondering if anyone has used this to add additional soundcards. I found a webpage that said it wasn't intended for recording. If that's not the case then what is it intended for? I have a delta 1010 but when i heard about it was curious so i tested it out by adding a usb mixer. It recorded ok a...

Anyone know how i can replace pulseaudio with jack?

I want to remove pulse audio and to have all alsa applications run through jack. Does anyone know how to do this? I am trying to do this on a Ubuntu 11.10 install.
