mixer for jack - mididings not working anymore

Hi there, I've been using non-mixer and mididings to map my midi control to osc for a while, but since upgrading my ubuntu distribution to 18.04 mididings stopped working :(. I cannot find another way to control non-mixer from a midi controller (jm2cv is not compiling in my system) and cannot find a...

Wich distro you would use for an Intel i7-6700HQ

Hi there, I just purchased a MSI CX62 6QD-240XES Intel i7-6700HQ/8GB/1TB/GT940MX/15.6" laptop. I've been using ubuntu for many years, and switched to lubuntu for performance (my old computers were not that powerful). I expect this i7 to be powerful enough to do what I want (live gigs with two m...

Low output signal with terratec phase 26 usb 6 outputs

Hi. I am using a Terratec Phase 26 Usb to play live gigs with my laptop. I am using 6 outputs configuration, so I can monitor two channels and use the other four as individual instruments. My problem is, in every gig I have played my sound technician complained about the low signal received in the m...

Re: good desktop system from scratch

Thanks again for your ideas.

Frank, can you share the specific model of your motherboard and your rack mountable cabinet?

And of your fanless processor cooling system and gamers case, Eino?

tx again

Re: good desktop system from scratch

What about the processor? I'm thinking about a AMD FX Series FX-8350 4Ghz and 8 cores (http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/processors/desktop/fx). I've read intel processors with 4 cores are better (but of course more expensive). Any opinion about it?

good desktop system from scratch

hi there. I am setting up a desktop system i want to use in gigs. I've got a Terratec Usb Phase 26 soundcard, using lubuntu 14.04 (ubuntu with lxde) and want to set up the computer from scratch, following j_e_f_f_g advice (http://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10013#p32147). The thing is...

Re: module_name & parameter_name for mute button in non-mixe

hi,

i got it to work, actually it's in the doc.

with mididings the command is

48: SendOSC(port, '/strip/didge-carla/Gain/Mute', lambda ev: ev.value / 127.0),

where 48 is the midi number and didge-carla the name os the non-mixer strip.

optional saving of carla patchbay connections?

hi there. I am using carla 2.0 beta 4 from 6th of April build, with a process mode of multiple clients. I've got a small issue i don't know how to confront. Whenever I press 'save' button for my project, plugins and plugins state are saved, but carla patchbay connections are also saved. This is not ...

Re: carla wet/dry vs disabling plugin

you are the boss here. For me, it's mainly a question of loading several plugins and using only one or two at a time, while the rest are still cpu consuming.

thanks for your excellent work.

carla wet/dry vs disabling plugin

hi there, i've got a question concerning carla. I remember reading about plugins and audio processing, I read about the ability of disabling the plugin or not, being the main difference that when the plugin was disabled there was no audio processing at all in the plugin, and when the plugin was enab...
