Re: KXStudio 10.04.2 is out!

I just did a clean install... So far I am quite impressed. I had a little bit of trouble getting Nvidia drivers installed for both Realtime and Low Latency kernels. The only bit of manual hackery I had to do so far is make sure that /dev/raw1394 was a member of the audio group. If this is done in it...

Re: Ubuntu (Studio) 9.10

The RT kernel for 9.10 is a big improvement over the one for 9.04... I discovered today that this kernel is backported via a ppa to 9.04 should want a better kernel and not want to bother upgrading.

I can't comment about pulse as I don't use it.

Re: lmms: How to set damper(sustain) pedal to an instrument?

Some keyboards don't support damper using the sustain plug (mine for instance). So you can use the expression slot for that which is usually CC11

Re: Combined Spectral Analyzer/Equalizer Plugin?

I don't know of a single plugin or otherwise that does the whole job... The two tools you want are patchage and jaaa (or japa) Use patchage to connect the analyser (jaaa or japa) to the port you are interested in (say a track in ardour)... now use the window manager (right click on the title bar in ...

Re: (Ardour) I'm sure this is a silly question

The reason it works this way is because it is designed to record several inputs simultaneously... That is hook an instrument up to each input on your sound card, create four tracks in Ardour... have four people playing together and record the lot. This can be a bit funny if you are doing a recording...
