Re: XRUNS in Jack
Hi, I noticed one strange thing: my Intel Core Duo CPU seems to support the following frequencies: 1.00 GHz, 1.33 GHz, 1.50 GHz, 1.67 GHz and 1.83 GHz. However it is switching from 1.00 GHz "Powersave" to 1.83 GHz "Performance" sometimes, but without using the other frequencies. ...

Words and Rhyme in a Songtext
Hi,
the program Rhyme (Windows Freeware) might be helpful, if you are looking for words to complete a songtext. It runs in Wine.

Re: Hello from Chicago
Hi Dayer4b, from my point of view it is required to run the PC with a RT-Kernel (Real Time), thus it is either required to install the Kernel afterwards or choose a Linux-Version, which does already include it. Maybe the AVLinux is a good version to choose. Regarding the question desktop or laptop P...

Re: Jack-MIDI and Alsa-MIDI Ports Connections
Hi, My Laptop (Macbook) has an Intel Core Duo, and the CPU frequency is switching from 1GHz to 1.83GHz depending on the requirements. When I set the frequency to max, which means 1.83GHz, then it does look like that the stability of the system with running all the applications is much better. Best R...

Jack-MIDI and Alsa MIDI Ports Connections
Hello, I am using the Edirol FA-66 Firewire Audio Interface, which does also have one MIDI-Port. Now there is a problem with the Jack-MIDI and Alsa-MIDI ports in the Jack connections window, they are seperated. The Firewire-MIDI port shows up in the Jack-MIDI window. If you start an Audio/MIDI Seque...

Re: Hi from Istanbul
Hello Kokoshmusun, Greetings to Istanbul. I think You have to buy an audio-interface, because the built-in soundcard will not make You happy. Otherwise the sound is not clear and maybe there is also some noise. The target would be to record with 24 bits resolution, so the quality of the sound will n...

Re: The Best LADSPA/LV2/DSSI plugins
Hi Studio32,
I just tried one of the TAP Plugins: the Stereo Echo on the vocals. It does really sound like there is more than one person singing. So yes, thank You for these recommendations.
Best Regards
Ralf

Tube Amp Simulation
Hello,
I just tried to run the electronic circuit simulator LTSpice (also known as switcher cad; Windows Freeware) in Wine, and it works.
It can be found here: http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/
I used LTSpice a lot, to simulate tube amps and other schematics.
Best Regards
Ralf

Re: michael jackson
Hi Roxanne,
yes indeed, Michael had an impact in my life. I became aware of his music somewhere in the distant past, maybe 30 years ago. This was the time when I met my wife in the dancing school.
Now my 10 year old son also likes his music and his way to dance.
Best Regards

Re: XRUNS in Jack
Hello, thanks the help of Jeremy and the ffado-diag tool I finally solved it. The main problem seems to have been a low priority for the firewire-driver in the IRQ list. The summary of the error messages respectively XRUNS with jack and ffado was as follows: ... firewire ERR: wait status < 0! (= -1)...

Re: XRUNS in Jack
Hi Jeremy, I do have the impression that I did something wrong, which means I just installed the FFADO Software without compiling it. Please keep in mind that I am a new user to Linux. Then I saw on the web that there is a special compiler for Intel PC's: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/usi...

Hello,
thank you for the recommendations. It looks like I have a hardware issue with the Macbook with Intel Core Duo, which is maybe not the optimized supported hardware.

In the meantime I fixed all these problems, but the problem with the XRUNS is still there. Is there anything else, which I could try?

XRUNS in Jack
Hello, I am sure You discussed this item a lot, but maybe You can help me. I have problems with XRUNS in Jack, one each ten seconds. I am using the Edirol FA-66 firewire interface. I tried several Linux-Versions and it has nothing to do with a missing Realtime-Kernel, since I also tried AVLinux and ...

Hello All,
somebody recommended the Artistx to download. 3.3GB. Wow.
I had to download it twice, because the first download didn't display the checksum properly. Now it is running since 5 minutes. Can You see the big smile on my face?
Regards
