Re: Help finding the right software

I would look at the pizmidi plugins. I think midiConverter3 placed in front of any decent linux sampler in a host. I used to use it to get rudimentary function of my eDrums hihat controller which was sending CC4 and converting that to a note. Available in KXStudio and AUR. https://bitbucket.org/agra...

Re: Installing Melodyne

Following on this - with REAPER's coming support for ARA2 (it is in prereleases currently) and the recent release of Melodyne 4.2 which includes ARA2 support - has anyone who has had success with Melodyne in wine tested the latest version in the latest linux REAPER prerelease? I've only played with...

low latency tweaks to snd-usb-audio

There's an interesting thread at Reaper's Linux forum where a user has tweaked snd-usb-audio to significantly reduce latency with usb interfaces, and made added it to AUR. I dodn't know what thay have done, but I'm curious if there might be a way to get this type of tweaked snd-usb-audio into the kx...

Re: Can't install wineasio

Not sure if you ever got wineasio working - but another alternative is to use the native Linux Reaper version and then use linvst so you can load windows vsts in it. EZDrummer 2, for instance, works well this way. The one negative is that drag and drop of midi does not work from EZDrummer to Reaper ...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

I think it is still worth looking at the pre-releases from the landoleet server - looking at the recent changelogs, it looks as if ALSA midi support has been added, and then followed by various fixes for the upcoming 4.94 release :) I haven't had a chance to them yet. v5.94pre2 - July 20 2018 + linu...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Hi, just playing around with the native reaper on Debian 9. Is it normal that the font looks a bit arkward? Installing mscorefonts helps (even with the Linux native version). And things about the theme are customizable in a libSwell.colortheme file. Searching for "libSwell.colortheme" at ...

Re: Zoom Rxx Project Import

The Linux version of Reaper. I save a new Reaper project with its own folder, then I copy the wave files from the R16 SD card into the project folder. Then I import them to separate tracks.

Re: Zoom Rxx Project Import

I have an R16. I use it mostly as a usb interface, but on some occasions I have used it to record gigs or practices. In those cases, I have not used the Zoom project to do any mixing, just pulled the wav files from the SD card and imported them into my DAW. A friend of mine who greatly prefers to wo...

Overtone DSP?

I was just following up on some plugins I was interested in from Overtone DSP, and their website doesn't seem to be working @ http://www.overtonedsp.co.uk. I then checked at their KVR forum - which has now been moved to the "old" company forums section. Have they changed their name? No men...

Re: Anyone using Zoom R16 as audio interface in Linux?

Just to add, I use a R16 with Mint KDE. It works fine these days, although I had to wait years for that to finally come in kernel 4.4. I don't get really low latency with it, but at least below 10 milliseconds. Also works as a control surface in Linux, and it has the added value of working as a fiel...

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

Use a CLI scanner tool to find out what's wrong. With carla, you can use this: /usr/lib/carla/carla-discovery-native vst /path/to/binary.so I suspect the plugins were built in an incorrect way, needing newer libs or CPU. The fact that they require "Ubuntu 15" which is not even a thing mak...

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

Has anyone had success with these? I haven't gotten them to scan in REAPER, Carla, or even Waveform. Putting all four .so files in my .vst folder causes REAPER not to start. I then decided to just test SID.so - REAPER starts now, but does not list SID among VSTis or VSTs. Carla does not seem to see ...

Re: Linux REAPER works!

Linux REAPER 5.50 is now up at the landoleet server. Justin has added elastique3 to the Linux builds, so hopefully the issues with Elastique2 in the Linux version are a thing of the past. This extra long development cycle from 5.40 to 5.50 was apparently due to the implementation of "automation...
