Qtractor is a nice option as well. I really like the pluggin management.

I would have to say that I am not a fan of having large corporations and government join together to manage private citizens on-line. Talk about a monopoly. I think not. A few DAWs can import the native file formats of other DAWs, but that is likely to be problematic. Like opening a complicated Excel spreadsheet in LibreOffice Calc.
