Re: Trust Over IP : Linux Foundaion ?
I would have to say that I am not a fan of having large corporations and government join together to manage private citizens on-line. Talk about a monopoly. This is a one ring to rule them all type of infrastructure and it's a bit worrying to me to be honest. Will this affect only http? If so, maybe...

USB Sound Sample Rate Jack/Pulse
Leo from MintCast in Episode 344 has outlined a solution for samplerate changes in relation between jack and pulse. Leo /etc/pulse/daemon.conf Leo remove the semi-colon and change the following lines Leo default-samplerate = 48000 Leo alternate-sample-rate = 48000 Leo then run "pulseaudio -k" L...

Re: Thank you Linux gaming community!
Hey, I'm not a noob. But I wanted to mention to you a few titles that you may not have heard of. They are some classic Linux games that a lot of us have been playing for years that don't get that much love anymore. And I'm sure others will add to the list as well. Some of these can be installed via ...

Re: How to prevent apps connecting to playback ports
There is another way to do in qjackctl: If you edit your output socket in the patchbay options, you can tick the "Exclusive" option. This will prevent anything else to connect to it. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTLlT9u6-TB3nS5ncBsAw_xYs2Ra8xxfY5Izpu8ULA3vT5hVonqBQ Thanks, b...

Re: LibreQuest Podcast
Hey LM users, did I get this right about Qtractor? I should have asked before I recorded the episode. I stated that Qtractors main strength is in Midi while Ardour is with audio. And that Qtractor started with midi and then added support for audio and the opposite was true of ardour. I don't know mu...

Re: Transporting metadata between DAWs
I think not. A few DAWs can import the native file formats of other DAWs, but that is likely to be problematic. Like opening a complicated Excel spreadsheet in LibreOffice Calc. Usually the best you can do is a stem export and then share the wav files. Thanks, milo -- that's more or less what I exp...

Re: "They Live" - movie review
If anyone here is into gaming on Linux there is a title called "Saints Row IV". I would advise using the steam proton compatibility layer to play the game using the windows version on Linux. The performance of DX to Vulkan outperforms the native OpenGL port. In the game Roddy Piper makes in in-game ...

Re: Deleted Thread?
[...] Indeed forum posts are a bit more ephemeral. I think that's OK and in line with the medium. For long-term knowledge collection/sharing we should be using different tools - though admittedly the ones readily available don't seem great. For example, the great LM Wiki, which is also a summary of...
