Re: UbuntuStudio 21.04 Carla MIDI issues
UbuntuStudio forces you to use Ubuntustudio-Controls to do that. For some odd reason they have intentionally made the KXstudio apps very difficult to use in their distro. SMH.

Re: Yabridge-UI-Yad
Gmaq, This looks great! Is there a way to only add specific VSTs rather than entire folders? I currently have a mixed setup with LinVST using LinVSTManager with only a few select VSTs I am testing with Yabridge. LinVSTManager allows explicitly picking and excluding individual VSTs, so I just exclude...

I guess I'm really, really not getting what you're trying to do then. Because every scenario I can think of is fairly straightforward.

Thanks! Works fine. It was one of those things that bugs me but doesn't really affect anything meaningful. OCD.

Re: Laptop audio/video 2 AvReceiver wifi/blutooth?
In the meantime, I would keep trying with methods to use the HDMI out. Also keep your eye open on Amazon Warehouse for a USB Sound Card if you're not happy with your laptop 1/8 port. You're really going to want a hard wired connection of some sort for your guitar signal. My immediate solution would ...

Re: Laptop audio/video 2 AvReceiver wifi/blutooth?
You will likely not be happy with the latency from any type of bluetooth/wireless adapter you might cobble together.
I'm not sure why you are having problems routing audio through the HDMI connection, but why not use a 3.5mm to RCA cable from your headphone jack to an input on the Pioneer?

Great news! I was able to apply all the "fixes" in the link successfully. Is there any way to apply the Whisker menu fix as well?

Re: AVL-MXE 2021.05.22 ISO Update Released!
Not sure if it's a bug or expected, but I noticed an issue with the VSTs installed in /usr/local/lib/vst. While it appears that LinVST has been run on the dll files (.so are present) they will not run out of the box (at least not in LiveUSB environment.) I was assuming that the sample VSTs would be ...

Re: AVL-MXE 2021.05.22 ISO Update Released!
Glen, A little clarification please. Does this release represent what would have been your usual April-ish version bump? Or is this just a updated and refreshed ISO for the last version with a new release still on the horizon? I seem to recall you were waiting on the new releases for Ardour and Mixb...

Re: test I/O-latency during different loads and on different low-latency
I have always used this, but it's been a few years since I felt the need. https://www.systutorials.com/docs/linux/man/1-jack_iodelay/ Basically - 1- Run it in a terminal 2 - Connect the inputs and outputs of iodelay to one of your interfaces inputs and outputs 3 - Run a physical wire from that outpu...

Re: Debian based studio distro?
I highly recommend you try AVLinux. Debian based, has all the proper repos already setup along with realtime kernel and all the necessary tweaks out of the box. I believe it also has some coding tools pre installed as well. One of the few distros still shipping a 32 bit image as well. http://www.ban...

Re: Mooer GE300
Take a look at the alsamixer settings for the device. Sometimes the defaults are not right for certain devices (channels muted/pegged, monitor ports on/off, internal routing switches on/off, etc.)

Re: Ardour recording midi and changing BPM
I'm sure someone with experience will come along with a proper answer. If it wasn't midi data I would suspect a sample rate mismatch, however you might try creating an Ardour project with a different sample rate and try it anyway.

Re: Move KXStudio to ArchLinux?
That clarifies things a lot. I think supporting things via deb repo is a fine way to expand and allow choices. Just to clarify a little more. You're talking about supporting LTS releases via PPA, but maintaining up to date debian repos in between? Meaning that you would sync the PPAs with the debian...
