I am also going. I've already purchased the fly tickets and reserved the hotel.
See you there!

Re: Audacity
Hi nihilist, If you are sure that your mic is recognized as a sound interface in your system, you can skip the first two steps. first, to make sure the mic is recognized plug it in and type 'lsusb' it should appear some entry related to the mic (if you are not sure, type 'lsusb' before and after plu...

Re: Private courses in electronic music
Hi Freqrush, I find very interesting your initiative. Lately I'm thinking also on doing some basic course of computer audio (oriented at linux) at the university. I work as associate professor and it doesn't report much incomes ehhe.. and there is the possibility to teach extra-curricular courses at...

Re: Arpage, a MIDI arpeggiator
original app.. I was trying to imagine how it would sound like used along with minicomputer  Maybe I'll try when I have time. I've seen you use the MIDI tab in qjackctl instead of the ALSA one. Is there any difference ? I always use the ALSA one. I thought is the one that should be used for r...

Re: sox OR sndfile-resample
Replace libsox0 by libsox1 in the apt-get install command.
For the moment don't uninstall anything.. try first the above and let's see if it works.
For your information, to uninstall from command line, use 'sudo apt-get remove <package-name>'

Re: sox OR sndfile-resample
Hi folks. Rosegarden keeps asking for either of the above files for re-sampling. Synaptic tells me that both are apparently installed but it just keeps asking. Try to execute sox from command line, if you cannot, then it's not well installed or it's not in the path (not so probable). Try to uninsta...

Re: Using an Electronic drum kit..?
Hi Yeri! Are we allowed to distribute the link to your video at the hydrogen mailing list, wiki etc. ? That should be very interesting for most of the hydrogen users! Hi mauser, of course, this video is publicly available from the ladi session handler site, so I assume that these guys don't have an...

Re: Slight connection problem ZynAddSubFX
Perhaps it might be nice to put this information somewhere else, i.e. at the wiki. I agree. It'd be good to report that some undesired behaviour is experienced at some repositories' versions that it is not experienced if compiled from source, but I'm not sure where in the wiki would it fit. Maybe a...

Re: Using an Electronic drum kit..?
Hi, I'm using hydrogen with my e-drum since a year ago or so and I'm satisfied with the software. Another thing are the sounds you want to use. At the beginning it was hard for me to find some drum kit sounds which liked me. I finally purchased ones from http://www.analoguedrums.com/ that sound grea...

Re: Slight connection problem ZynAddSubFX
Hi, it shouldn't have anything to do with the order in which the apps are executed. The only thing is to start jackd at the beginning (usually with qjackctl). I'd try to compile zynaddsubfx as raboof suggests. I recommend to do it from svn. I had some problems with the version at the repositories (i...
