Re: shortcut to rename parts

Hi Robert, yes it was a long time :) (I think it was linux audio conference 2004 in Karlshrue), hope you are doing great! Thanks for the addition, it works perfectly! Just a n00b question: if i do the ./compile_muse.sh script it rebuilds the whole thing from scratch, is there a way to compile just t...

shortcut to rename parts

Maybe I'm dumb, but for the life of me I cannot find a shortcut to rename parts in the arranger window, and it's a common operation that would quite speed up the workflow rather than doing it by right clicking with the mouse. I'm missing something?

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Re: Recording without DAW

You may want to check out ecasound http://nosignal.fi/ecasound/
It should be able to handle that.

Re: what I like in a MIDI sequencer

+1 for Groove quantize ! In my opinion the absence of this feature is the greatest show-stopper in linux MIDI sequencers (muse is the one I like most) At the very least you should be able to use a user-defined grid instead of a rigid (not very musical) straight grid; then, you could start building a...

Speaking of samplers there's also petri-foo, a fork of specimen which is quite capable:

MIDI out on musescore 0.9.5

Hi,

It's just me or MIDI out doesn't work in musescore 0.9.5?

I see its midi ports in qjackctl but even if I connect them to zynaddsubfx it doesnt play.

If I select "use midi output" in preferences, the song doesn't play at all

any hints?

thanks

Re: Cricket studios - Bologna, Italy

I use GNU/Linux for my day telejob too, so that has been a route that paid for me, and I'm very happy of that. The only drawback is that I sit at the computer at least twelve hours a day :-/ Me too! I spend 8-10 hours at work writing software, documentation, doing 3D graphics, etc. (all in Windows,...

Re: Cricket studios - Bologna, Italy

Very nice! And in Bologna, as well. I'm hoping to get to your part of the world next year. I want to go to the Ducati factory and museum. :) Nice studio and instruments. I wish I had the space and money for something similar. What are you using Linux for in your studio? Are you using Ardour as your...

Re: Cricket studios - Bologna, Italy

Nice Nice, especially the instruments! And your 'acoustic tools' are interesting... Ah I have lots of instruments... Let's see... Keyboards an upright piano (needs tuning) a Korg MS2000 a Behringer UMX61 a strange electric organ (more of an electric accordion) paid 10 eur. Guitars: one nice classic...
