Re: graphically GtkControllers
The GtkReglerClass is work in progress, so new suggestions are welcome. At present I work on buildin fallback graphics to make sure the class can initialise, also if the given pixmap can't find. What graphics do you need or want for the GtkReglerClass? If there's something you need I'll be happy to...

Re: graphically GtkControllers
Brummer, do you still need any graphics? I've been out of town with work for the last 2 weeks and haven't had time to work on this at all. I finally settled down to create some stuff and came here to get dimensions and the like but it looks like you've already got what you need.

Re: New sound card suggestions
I only have real experience with one soundcard: the M-Audio Delta 66. In combination with a Omni I/O module, it has the inputs and outputs you want (4 ins, 4 outs, the Omni I/O has two mic preamps built in). I've been using one for a couple of months now and it's worked great.

Re: graphically GtkControllers
hi ntnunk That will be great, what I first looking for is a nice knob, size beetween 32*32 or 100*100 (thats real big, like you find it in many VSTI's.) Best with a transparent background, I need the single frames from an animation in one pixmap. A knob (from 32*32 with 100 frames will fit in a png...

Re: graphically GtkControllers
Hi I would ask here if there are some graphicall artists out there those would like to create some nice looking controllers like knobs, slider's and toggle button. I could probably make some things for you. I assume you're looking for animation frames so that you could make them slide/turn smoothly...

Re: New Hardware..suggestions?
Trust me, I agree 100%. I've invested quite a bit in mine as well. That's one of the reasons why I've been using Ubuntu Studio and resisting the urge to hack on it too heavily.thorgal wrote:I don't consider my DAW as a toy, linux or not It cost me enough money to take it seriously enough

Re: New Hardware..suggestions?
my experience with Ubuntu Studio is far from exhaustive and it dates back to summer 2007. Wow, no wonder you aren't a fan! Fortunately I had none of those problems. Ubuntu Studio went in cleanly and easily, and I've had no problems whatsoever with it. SO I installed 64studio, saw it was in fact deb...

Re: New Hardware..suggestions?
do you have any latency problems using Ubuntu? Are you using midi as well as audio? I use and MIDI extensively, both with software synths and hardware synths (via a M-AUDIO USB Uno interface) with Ubuntu Studio 8.04 with no problems. While tracking I run JACK with latencies around 2ms (I have to ru...

Re: New Hardware..suggestions?
I'm using Ubuntu Studio 8.04 and it's worked well so far. I installed it with an old Sound Blaster Audigy 1 in the computer and when I got my Delta 66 and swapped the sound cards Ubuntu Studio picked it up with no problem at all. I have no experience with other audio distros, so I can't comment abou...

Re: Do you have a distro for 'studio' and one for 'desktop'?
I have two main Linux computers. My "studio" is also my office, so both are in there. My "life" machine runs OpenSUSE 11.1 with KDE and is used for everything from email and web surfing to household finances (via WinXP and Quicken, run as a Virtual Machine using VMWare Player) to...
