Re: Your favourite Linux DAW's in 2019?

Qtractor is very cool though. I really like it and I think it's my favourite so far. I just have a couple of serious issues with that program which is why I haven't switched to it. The lack of PDC is a big deal for me. I also don't like the way that you can't make windows permanently stay on top of...

Re: QTRACTOR can't draw some notes

you probably have set on a key and a *scale* that isn't the default "Chromatic" one; check View > Toolbars > Scale:

Re: There's a lack of Qtractor video tutorials..

But I have noticed some issues with the program that I would like to share with the developer who I believe is 'rncbc' on here, right? correct. These are my feature requests ranging from what I consider to be important to quality of life improvements based on my comparisons with Qtractor and other ...

Re: There's a lack of Qtractor video tutorials..

Btw, is it possible to make things like the piano roll and plugin windows stay on top of other windows until I close them? It kinda bugs me how I'll have a synth and piano roll on the screen, then when I go to make a quick adjustment on the mixer, the piano roll and synth get lost in the background...

Re: There's a lack of Qtractor video tutorials..

Ok. I will keep that in mind! Do you know if there's a keyboard shortcut to toggle that on and off? I'm just reading through the user guide, btw. I'm going to give this program a good shot as I really want to ditch using Wine for music stuff and Qtractor has been one of the most appealing programs ...

Yeah, but you know, I am the "light design"-rebel :) http://marzen.de/tmp/qtractor_multirow_mixer.jpg color taste to the side, you know that you can set the new MIDI tracks audio meters on their own discretion (and not set globally as you seem to have): qtractor-midi-audio-meters-1.png ch...

Re: [ANN] Qtractor 0.9.4 - The Winter'19 Release

Looks as if Rui had to make new screenshots. nope. the screenshots are still the same as if those new options were never activated though. take note that audio output meters are only meaningful for MIDI tracks (or buses) that have at least one MIDI instrument plugin inserted; on all other cases the...

[ANN] Qtractor 0.9.4 - The Winter'19 Release

Dear all, Qtractor 0.9.4 ( winter'19 beta ) is released! Changes for this season are as follows: - Drag-moving and copy-pasting existing clips, while over the main track-view, now shows the respective (audio wave-shapes and MIDI piano-rolls) graphical representations, as much as possible. - For good...

Re: Drums in Ardour

Attached is one of my midi files. It starts in 4/4, changes to 7/8 on measure 14, and back to 4/4 on measure 15. (There are many additional time sig changes after that.) QTractor doesn't import them correctly. which bars or measures are not correct? i do see 4/4 at bar 1, 14 is 7/8 alright and 15 o...

Re: Drums in Ardour

It appears to be a bug in the code that saves the data to a MIDI file on disk. What is written out is mangled if there are time signature changes. Otherwise the program seems to handle time signatures up until the data is saved to disk. There's a similiar problem in your midi reading code. It misre...

... Qtractor (more stable, but lacking very basic functionalities, and having the nerve of DESTROYING your work when you have a piece with several time signatures). sounds quite serious! had you the nerve to report the problem upstream is and it would probably be fixed already. care to explain your...

[ANN] QmidiCtl 0.5.3 - An Early Winter'18 Release

Hello and Happy New Year! QmidiCtl 0.5.3 ( early winter'19 ) is out! http://www.rncbc.org/drupal/files/qmidictl-android-phone-1.png QmidiCtl is a MIDI remote controller application that sends MIDI data over the network, using UDP/IP multicast. Inspired by multimidicast ( http://llg.cubic.org/tools )...
