But in this case it seems to be ALSA that is misbehaving, see the initial mail. So I'm wondering if it could be a driver issue.Tim E. Re: MIDI clock questions
Glad it worked!
As for why ALSA raw does not work, another possibility is that it is a driver issue. What midi device and alsa version are you using?
Would be good if someone else with an external sequencer could try to recreate these issues.

Re: MIDI clock questions
For the record I did my test with bleeding edge MusE.
It's possible the version you tried didn't have all the bells. Not sure when midi sync was last worked on.

Re: issue and whishes
Built 4.0pre1, installed and started it. imported a midi file by dragging it to the arranger. made a global cut from the beginning to bar N. Ctrl-A to select all the remaining tracks. Ctrl-X and crash ! Very odd. Did another quick test and nothing bad happened now either. I'm bad at finding faults ...

Re: MIDI clock questions
Hi DecAgnts, I think I lack the hardware to make any more advanced analysis so I will just report on a little test I did. It appears to me that MusE Can send midi clock to jack. Here's what I tried. Started Jack and MusE. Open the Midi sync tab in MusE, find a midi device in the list that is jack ba...

Re: The state of Linux DAWs in 2021?
FLS Piano roll * Left click will instantly draw a note (The same length as the last note you drew) and right click will instantly delete it. There's no clicking and dragging needed unless you want to resize a note that already exists. very neat feature! * If you edit a pattern, every copy of it wil...

Re: issue and whishes
Hello, Issue: After loading a MIDI song, I want to delete the n first bars and copy the remaining at the bar 1: Crash and back to the desktop. If I delete the n bars and next move the remaining, crash also. So you can't modify the global structure of the song. I try by adding one audio track and I ...

Re: Issue with V4 master
I assume simpledrums.so is dependent on libmuse_widgets.so, which is supposed to be self-contained for this to work. But RasterizerModel is declared outside of libmuse_widgets.so. I suppose it's connected to Tim's recent changes to the raster grid. It seems to me it exists in libmuse_core.so, tried...

Re: Issue with V4 master
This is with the AppImage, right?
Tried it here and I cannot see ŚimpleDrums either.
Edit: Well, what do you know I can't see it with a self built MusE master either. The file is there but MusE does not seem to recognize it.

Re: Cannot install Calf studio gear
How do you go about installing calf? It should really just work. I'm not specifically a ubuntu studio user but with the wonders of virtualization it took me just a few minutes to make a hands on try with the live dvd. ubuntu-studio@ubuntu-studio:~$ sudo apt install calf-plugins Reading package lists...

Re: Autotalent plugin, audacity
Yeah, I've been using a combination of Qtractor and Audacity to come up with some rough drafts, but I'll probably need to look into something a bit more advanced. I hadn't heard of x42 auto tune though, that's helpful! Thanks Qtractor isn't my preference (see footer) but if you feel comfortable usi...

Re: Autotalent plugin, audacity
I think you should check the x42 auto tune https://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-autotune Having only tried to use it's automatic features I can't really comment on the more odd uses. What you are after is probably controlling it via midi to force what note is sung. Oh, just realized you are using Audacit...

Hi MyLoFy, Cool song and sounds! Maybe a bit too far on the abstract side for me : P Great that Vital worked also! Haven't had a chance to try it myself. And I'm very happy you found working with MusE was enjoyabe. I think it's shaping up pretty good with all that has happened lately, kybos grand UI...

Re: Import and reading MIDI file
PS: How is it possible to delete a Muse installation, now I use the app image. If you still have the build folder for your previous muse installation you can run: sudo make uninstall I see now it is not a complete uninstallation though, all folders seem to be left behind. If you built it with defau...

Re: OnTIs-59 Title Screen Theme (Video Game Soundtrack)
Cool! I immediately felt that this needs a big (gated) snare. And, yep, that's what happened :) Incidentally I watched (force fed by youtubes algorithms...) a video the other day about the origins of the gated snare, apparently they stumbled on the effect by a fortunate accident while recording one ...
