Re: What distros are you using?

I still get that dreaded freeze problem. Mint 12 will have to go shortly. It's served me so well, it's a real shame, however peeps have to change ways to get on. Thank you for sharing. Chippy I am using Linux Mint 13 (Maya) (with KXStudio PPAs). I am also suffering from the freeze problem (see bug )...

Re: What distros are you using?

Read this a while back and didn't give it justice at the time since I was so busy. Invaluable information Shadow thank you for sharing. Actually I had a nuts idea. Head to a cabin someone I know owns and record there. (Vocals). I don't mind the air around my voice, I like it natural in a way of spea...

Re: Record made w/ Ardour2, Sonatina samples, etc.

I listened to quite a few of these just now. I was very impressed I have to say. Your artwork is also wonderful, did you complete this too, or did you get someone along and create that for you?
Best wishes, excellent stuff.

Re: What distros are you using?

Good posts peeps. I just saw that Ardour 3 has been released with Midi capabilities. Sure they have a donation button, and I'll probably swoop for this once I've finally wiped the drive clear in readiness. I have a preference for Rosegarden . I know it isn't everybodies favourite, however is has one...

Re: Ultra portable studio 1337.

Fabulous info Emsee. I take it that you are using this live? This is my dream too if so. I really want what I have created live, after all, recordings are just that and playing along with CD's as backing while a potential nessecity perhaps, do not really hang that well with me. This kind of info is ...

Chipfryer.Com

http://chipfryer.com High peeps. Just a shorty letting you know that my site is now up and running. Instead of it just being 'MY music site', I decided to give something back to people who have listened, commented and those I have made friends with over the years in music. We all know how difficult ...

Re: What distros are you using?

Hi Peeps thanks for the replies.
I have to say I'm pretty impressed with Tango. I need to wipe this comp and do fresh installs before I really get to grips with it though.
Invaluable information as usual Auto.

Best to all.

Re: What distros are you using?

I'm pretty pleased with Tango Studio. Works great from the Live CD, lower emmissions and so on.
Whatever is wrong with mint, and I suspect it is something to do with video hardware drivers, it isn't present in Tango.
Thought I'd let you know.
Have a great week

Re: What distros are you using?

Thanks for the replies peeps. I think it would be very interesting to get the low down on what people use and why, especially experiences. I did notice Studio 1337 which has some hype attached to it, but read elsewhere it is really Puppy Studio????? Downloading Puppy as mentioned too, for a ...

What distros are you using?

Happy Mondays peeps. Linux Mint 12 is running fine, and I've started recording finally. (Breathes a sigh of relief). However I am still getting that dreaded Mouse Freeze problem, and one which I've found that others in numbers face too. Really annoying..... Basically I'm asking what you are using fo...

Re: USB 3 problems - Linux Mint....

Hi Pablo! Thank you, yes. I think you are right about this. A very bad USB setup on this Laptop. Breath on it, and the card dies. I do have better news this morning however. I recorded my very first Linux guide vocal this morning. Needless to say, I am extatic about it too. A few pops and cri...

USB 3 problems - Linux Mint....

Also posted about this on their site. I have an ASUS x54C, and I'm having nothing but connection problems via USB to a Fast Track External Sound card. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't, sometimes it just decides not to be there when recording, after a loud pop sound. I have an Omega 4 point p...

Re: (Solved) QSynth and loading soundfonts

Hi Pablo, thank you very much for your reply. I did get this down to around 8 msec after a bit of fiddling around. Very helpful, thanks again. :) I've played around with various settings but understand that somehow I'll have to adjust the KH, then rebuild the Kernel, is this correct? No, you don't h...
