Re: Reaper starts to implement LV2

Someone always pays a price when a hobby, or attempts to gain valuable skills/experience/continuing-education leads to someone missing personal interaction. Could be kids, spouses, parents, siblings, valuable friends, strangers in need... and of course the coders themselves. This is VERY true and a...

Hello fellow Canadian!

I have a 'made in Canada' project that should cover most of your grocery list, including running VST Plugins..:

Re: Mixbus and Manjaro

Mixbus and Ardour are Distro-agnostic bundles of their own... Mixbus has to be downloaded from Harrison's web site. Also the Ardour devs do not support any Distribution packages of Ardour, they rely on a heavily patched build stack of the support libs and most (or probably all) distros don't have th...

Re: AVLinux MX-edition and Ryzen 7 4800U?

Hi,

AVL-MXE latest release comes with Kernel 5.9.1, I myself use it with a Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX.. I would be surprised if any other mainstream Linux OS is shipping with a much newer Kernel than that right now..lol

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!

Hi! varpa Sorry I had missed your post and was AFK due to work most of last week.. That is interesting but not great news about pianoteq, that should definitely be brought to their attention since it doesn't affect any other plugins that I have encountered.. As I've said elsewhere the default Kernel...

Re: AVLinux-MXE Getting Started

Hi, I had to be AFK for a few days with work so I wasn't here to answer this.. but this is exactly the kind of attitude that makes doing a project like AVL-MXE kinda not so enjoyable.. A manual with the exact info needed is on the Desktop and a table of contents with bookmarks to the exact section t...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!

Is it possible to boot AV Linux MX Edition straight into the graphical desktop, being root? If so, how would I do this? Thanks. Hi Do you mean when running off the USB Key? If so if you want to be Root in a Live session on the USB key the password for Root is 'root'. The Live system is set up for a...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!

Hi I'm a bit curious about this release, so I tried it by booting the ISO. I noticed a couple of things at once. Let me just point out that I did not install it, I only ran it live from the ISO, in case that makes a difference. I made the regular jack settings and started up Ardour and Hydrogen. I ...

@glowrak guy,

That's good news indeed and high praise coming from you who knows more about getting Wine apps running in Linux than I ever will! Thanks for the report and kind words!

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!

I checked out the Live image yesterday and like the design a lot :D . I'm totally confused with Wine and don't even have the slightest clue at the moment how to use it and also if I want to use it. Could this be deinstalled easily? I also asked myself why Cadence is not used, but Qjackctl? I ...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!

Please, don't get me wrong. I'm NOT degrading your work nor anything you'd done before that! Though, it's still a pity that I could not give it a go. Perhaps you'll need to know that I'm on a prepaid internet connection via USB flash modem. I need that as I'm working on different computers on diffe...

Re: Why does giving your music as a gift feel awkward? Should it?

Great OP question LC! The way you framed the question was eerily exactly the same thought process I've went through many times.. I suppose "great minds think alike"..or do "fools seldom differ"?? My music is pretty introspective and political so knowing some of my family probably lighting the ...

Hi lilith, There are only md5 and SHA512 sums in the download folder, are you running 'sha256sum' or 'sha512sum' to verify? As far as copying to a USB key... what distro are you going to create it from? Unetbootin or DD should be fine.. oh my ... thanks. This happens even with my glasses on. ...
