Cooped up with Covid? Wanna proofread the AVL 2020 Manual?

Hi, The release of AV Linux 2020 is just around the corner and as is customary the User Manual gets updated and revised with every release. I have googly eyes from staring at this thing so if you have the time and talent a second (or third, or forty-ninth) set of eyes would be appreciated in proofre...

Re: AV Linux 2020.1.14 Release Candidate for testing only

Hi,

Yes, so many of the ALSA GUI's are of old and obsolete hardware I removed them because they create several rather hideous menu entries, I didn't think they were really necessary on the Live ISO.. They are of course available for installation after an install of AVL.

Re: Audio assault plugins @ linux

@turbidh20

Hi, Thanks for the answer!

I had been a bit hasty and just had missed the 'Audio Assault' part of the file tree, I just had from 'Duality' on down to the subfolders in /opt. Working now but still don't see a place to register the plugin but it's working anyway..

Re: Audio assault plugins @ linux

Hi, I recently purchased a few of these including the forthcoming Grind Machine III, I put Duality on the bass track of an old demo and it was unbelievable. I'm having some issues with it not launching any sort of file manager to find it's presets or to save my own. Also I can't figure out how to re...

Re: Making music as you get older

Lots of good advice here! @lykwydchyckyn I totally understand what you are talking about.. I live in a rural farming community and being a musician (or remotely liberal in any sense of the word) is already too "weird" for most people... that is until they need a band for some sort of milestone famil...

Re: Back In The Seat - Blues Rock instrumental.

Hi!

Nice heavy blues! Some tasty licks in there and great tone and phrasing. Reminded me a tiny bit of Leslie West from Mountain. I would agree the drums could be be louder, in fact a nice heavy Bonham style backbeat would suit very nicely..

Re: Rock and Roll Tune

Hi Craig!

The song is a great memory, thanks for sharing! A nice crisp recording with a surprisingly tight band arrangement for a song that was just a whim at the time.. Now the GST/HST is not a good memory because we still have it.. and where did that high Canadian dollar go....?

Re: Still waffling over nearfields

Hi lilith!

Yes I mentioned in my first post in this thread, first I bought the iLoud micro monitors for my office/dev computer and I liked them so much I bought the MTM's for the studio.. I haven't gotten around to calibrating them yet though..

Re: Still waffling over nearfields

I just bought a pair of iLoud MTMs: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iloudmtm/index.php?p=specs Bass down to 40 Hz which is crazy for that speaker size. You can calibrate them to correct for your room (which yet doesn't work with my pair ... I just contacted the support). They can get really l...
