Re: No audio from fluidsynth when frame size in jack is redu
jackd -t2000 -dalsa -dhw:XFi -p256 And test again. This worked! Thanks very much for you help. The latency is definitely reduced. So what exactly was the problem? Was it Qsynth getting kicked out because it didn't service the callback quickly enough during registration or something? What are the co...

Re: No audio from fluidsynth when frame size in jack is redu
Hi Pablo, Thanks for the response. It was very insightful. Unfortunately, I still couldn't get it to work... :-( The module (driver) of your card is snd-ctxfi, isn't it? Well, you can see this Interrupt Request (IRQ) is overpopulated. Ideally, you want that the ctxfi is the only device in a IRQ numb...

Re: No audio from fluidsynth when frame size in jack is redu
That's unlikely to be the issue. I could switch between 512 and 1024 - and I did restart fluidsynth each time I changed the JACK setup.falkTX wrote:maybe fluidsynth simply doesn't support frame size changes on the fly?

No audio from fluidsynth when frame size in jack is reduced
Hi all, (The subject says it all really). This is a problem that's baffling me at the moment. I'm running AV Linux (6.0) off a USB stick connecting a midi keyboard through a USB->midi cable. The default JACK configuration has a frame size of 1024 at a frequency of 48000. With these settings, the lat...

Sound card suggestions sought
Hi All, Up until recently, I've been using my Korg D8 (hard disk recorder) and an old keyboard (with not the best sounds for my recording works). I decided to switch over everything to the computer (Using AVLinux). I need advice on choosing a sound card, and you may find my wish list is a bit 'diffe...
