Re: Project to refer to: band just released 100%-FOSS-made album
@benzene: It's really cool if you've also made an album like that! What's the name (band/album)? And which $500 sound card are you talking about? The one you've used, or the one they used? Anyway, I bet that they're not the "first worldwide" who did that. ;) ...but I think I figured out wh...

Re: Project to refer to: band just released 100%-FOSS-made album
Sorry for not replying earlier, but I've had problems logging into this forum (strange timeouts...) @maghoxfr: Yeah, I've also used Cinelerra already for video editing. It's quite powerful. I hope it became a bit more stable since the last time I've used it... ;) (But hey: compared to Adobe Premiere...

Project to refer to: band just released 100%-FOSS-made album
An Austrian band "XBloome" just released their new album "X marks the spot" - and it's produced exclusively with Free Software! Not only audio, but also artwork, graphics and layouting. They say on their website: "It's 100% Photoshop-free!" ;) They're offering tutorials...

MIDI synchronization?
Hi everyone, I'm facing some ugly problems regarding synchronization of apps using MIDI (mainly midi beat clock), and would be grateful for any help or hints. My previous setup on windows was: - samplitude (recording DAW) - clock master - Rebirth 338 (as drum sequencer) - clock slave 1 - hardware sy...

Re: Reasons to not use free software
Maybe. However, some readers are definitely referring to free software (as in GPL) - otherwise some of their comments would not make sense. I would let this article rest. The author is probably quite stubborn and emotional (e.g. the "mum and dad" reference), so we should rather spend our t...

Re: Reasons to not use free software
The article has no real argumentative base.
Obviously, the author mistakes "freeware" and "free software" (also in the original article that caused him to write this reply).
I was really amazed to see that most viewers' replies contained profound arguments *for* free software.

Re: Momome--What is it really?
I got one of those (a "40h" to be exact), and I'm using it with GNU/Linux. :) It's actually quite WYSIWYG: buttons and leds (and maybe accelerometers). It doesn't produce any sound on its own - and every semantic logic of btns and leds is handled completely on the software side (currently ...
