Re: Rubberband Stereo Pitch Shifter can't transpose -3
This appears to be a bug in the Ardour GUI. The workaround is to right-click on the Rubberband plugin on the mixer channel, and then clicked Controls > Show all controls. I could do it from there.

Rubberband Stereo Pitch Shifter can't transpose -3
Hi there I am using Ardour 5.11.0 on Ubuntu 17.10, and I am trying to use the Rubberband Stereo Pitch Shifter (version 1.8.1). I need to transpose down 3 semitones using this tool, but it refuses to let me. It will not tranpose -3, but -2 and -4 are no problem. There are also other transposing numbe...

Re: Qjackctl will not connect/start Jack
It has magically started working again. I don't know what happened! Thanks for the help, though! I use Ubuntu (or Ubuntu Studio, depending on which computer I'm on) often, and they are both usually super stable and everything "just works". NO idea what happened. If anyone searches this and...

Qjackctl will not connect/start Jack
Hi there I am trying to record vocals for a project that needed to be done a few days ago (it just took longer than expected), and now I cannot even start up Jack in Qjackctl, so I am getting worried! No matter what settings, kHz, bit depth, or even sound card I choose, I always get the same error m...

Re: Mainstage-like setup
Ok, I'll check it out! Another option that I have been looking at is a very convoluted, difficult setup where I record/mix the backing to a WAV file, and then load it into Rosegarden, where I can have midi tracks, a metronome, and audio ouputs on different Jack outputs, and then I can at any time ch...

Re: General Midi Drumkit for Hydrogen
Ok, it looks like I've Googled enough.
I know how to do it now.
If I get 5 likes, bumps or replies, I will go and make the best Free & Libre GM-Compatible Drumkit I can.

Re: General Midi Drumkit for Hydrogen
Not much.
I have a few free/open drumkits to use, but I don't know HOW to make it General Midi compatible.

General Midi Drumkit for Hydrogen
Hi there So, I've been Googling for a while now, and it appears that there is no easy, simple, good quality drumkit for Hydrogen drum machine that is actually General Midi compatible. Since I need one myself, and I don't mind putting one together from existing samples or soundfonts, I would love to ...

Re: Mainstage-like setup
@sadko4u - I would have to stop and load a new session in Ardour between songs - I couldn't easily set up 5-10 songs in a playlist (like you can in Mainstage). @gimmeapill - I've tried, but I can't seem to find any way to do it in Mixxx. I am still out of luck - there seems to be no way to do this o...

Mainstage-like setup
Hi there I am desperately looking for a Linux replacement for Mainstage. I need to be able to have a playlist of songs/patches for live playback, with tempo's, click tracks, and so on. Mainstage allows one to to save tempo's, patches and playback for use alone or with a midi controller. I don't real...

Looking to replicate synth sound
Hi there! I am looking to replicate a very specific synth sound, and I have been unable to find a Free/Libre sample which is similar. The sound can be found in this turorial on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEBiIv6EVA0 from the 1:25 mark to around the 1:40 mark. I have synthv1 (http://synt...

Re: Free/Open Singing Course/Book
Ok! I have done a lot (and I mean a LOT) of Googling, and I have come accross some public domain books in the Internet Archive. I have NOT read them yet, so I am not sure how suitable they are for self-study, but here they are: https://archive.org/details/solosinging00newm https://archive.org/detail...

Free/Open Singing Course/Book
Hi there! Season's greetings and all that jazz to everyone! I have spent some of my time off over the holiday season to try to improve my singing voice, which I must admit is pretty abysmal. However, I have struggled to find anything on-line at all. YouTube videos are basically adverts for expensive...

Advice on Stereo to Mono
Hi all! I am looking for a quick, cheap and dirty way to turn a stereo signal from a TRS "jack" plug into a mono signal on a TS "jack" plug on the other end of the cable. A bit of Google-ing has told me that I must just connect both the Tip and Ring of the stereo plug to the Tip ...
