Re: Go Commando
C64 is a tiny bit before my time, but I love me some chiptunes. I believe the simplicity and limitations of chiptune formats inspired some really great work. I think it forced songwriters to focus on creating really strong memorable melodies. It's always nice to hear these songs re-worked. To this d...

Re: New 5-track EP called Lost Time
Very clean sounding production! I enjoyed listening. I'll have to bookmark to download.
I think "Time will Tell" was my favorite. I like the dirty bass synth pitted against the orchestra sounds. I also enjoyed hearing you pull in outside collaborators.
Great work!

Re: Pop - My first song with Qtractor
I can tell you put a lot of care into the production of this. The arrangement and breadth of instrumentation is really a treat. I like your use of marimba. The acoustic guitar effortlessly float in the mix, support it well. I enjoyed the independence of the bass line from the other parts. It is a ni...

Re: April Mixdown
Personally, I can't finish songs/albums if I'm too passive in working on them. I usually set arbitrary goals/limitations for my work, for if I wait for inspiration strike, inspiration finds some other unsuspecting victim. I have a tendency to wallow in indecision otherwise. That's how it works for m...

Re: April Mixdown
You should develop these into full songs. Many of them have a really cool atmospheric "chill" sound. Have you done any work on these since?

Re: Newest work
Sounds great! I think the guitar has a great "punch" to it and I love the pad synth sound you use near the beginning. There is a really cool change of pace around 2:10. To my ears, I think your song would benefit greatly by adding some strong melody lines to avoid getting too repetitive. A...

Re: Music player frustrations
Clementine *should* support gapless playback. Maybe it's something external like gstreamer or a weird configuration?
Amarok also is supposed to support gapless.

I'm curious: Do any of you release your music under a creative commons license? If so, which one(s) and why?

Re: Qtractor issues and questions
I forgot to knock on wood. The misbehaving plugin sound seems to have come back.It seems like I no longer having sound issues in qtractor either. I've opened qtractor projects and played them several times without error.
Thanks for the link on automation.

Re: Qtractor issues and questions
I guess I should also mention, that the volume on amSynth tracks appears to be affected by the mixer. Pan still seems to do nothing across the board. I did a full upgrade of kxstudio packages this morning.

Re: Qtractor issues and questions
Thanks for the tips, gazpacho. My computer is getting up in years, but I at this point, I don't think I need to cut too many corners. I believe I figured out why my plugin settings aren't getting applied. I created a new project with a single track with a amSynth plugin. The newer version of amSynth...

Re: Qtractor issues and questions
Hey! Thanks for the quick response. I went ahead and marked qtractor and amSynth to upgrade the packages to the latest. After restarting qtractor with my session 4 or 5 times, it seems to always behave consistently at the very least. However, the plugin settings for the project don't appear to get a...

Qtractor issues and questions
I'm using kxstudio tried qtractor for the first time this week and I'm running into some pretty annoying issues. I'm using version 0.5.10. I feel like I may have something set up incorrectly. I had a project I started which consisted of 3 tracks of midi with virtual instruments (mda epiano, and 2 am...

Re: Might release an album...
It's just not worth the brain cycles trying to figure out if a project is desired. If it makes sense to you, release it and share it with the world. Some guy in a country you've never heard of probably totally digs your stuff. With some effort in promotion (don't ask for advice from me), a sizable m...

Re: New track after along time.. feedbacks plz...
It's very dark and cinematic sounding, yet very chill. It reminded me a little of the Hans Zimmer Inception sound-track, if he made hip hop instrumentals. I like it. I thought the percussive beeps and blips were a nice touch, but a little over-used in the later part of the song.
