Desk
I need a new desk for my studio area. Any suggestions would be well received. The only features that I require would be: * room for two monitors and plenty of elbow room * I don't want a keyboard tray, I would keep the keyboard on the top surface * drawers (ala a regular desk) * and a hutch of sorts...

Massive 'Recording Levels' Thread
Found this thread at the Tape Op Message Board.
Recording Levels
Apparently lots of good stuff from extremely knowledgeable (and some less than) people.

Re: Packet In
The RPM Challenge sounds like a fantastic idea.
If my studio is in shape like I expect I might like to try this.

My (Old) Layout
Sorry I haven't been around much lately but life has been pretty busy. I meant to share these before but time was limited. Among other things we bought and moved into a new house. I converted the garage in our old house into my room. Here are some photos during and after the conversion. Notice the d...

That rocks. I like it.
Now you need some killer vocals on there also.

This is a bloody good place to visit if you intend to build your own studio.
Or even if you just want to make what you have a little better.
The amount of information, guides, pictures and explanation is bleeding astounding!

In regards to my wife, I've started leaving Ubuntu Studio on instead of rebooting into Windows. The longest she has used it was three days before she finally rebooted. So I guess she is slowly becoming acclimated. Things don't move quickly at my house due to work, family, etc but I got the sound car...

Here's another song.
This one is more structured than most of my other ones and far less spontaneous.

I'm Funky
No replies yet, hmmm. I hope I didn't peform a faux pas by posting music generated in a studio-in-a-box rather than in Linux. Music recorded in Linux will be coming soon though :) Either way, I'll forgo the pretentious descriptions this time and just post a couple of link. A bit funkier and a little...

My Music - Heavy Wah
I'm going to start posting some of my music. I'll try to include some descriptions about equipment, work flow and of course caveats about quality. This song was recording in my garage with a Tascam tape 4-track recorder. If I remember correctly (I always recorded while drinking back then) I used my ...

I do have a question about the Delta 44. How will this work with an existing Sound Blaster card? Currently I have a dual boot machine with the on-board sound disabled and a set of semi-cheap speakers connected to the SB for games, listening to videos and CD's. My theory is to use the SB while in XP,...

Wednesday I got my M-Audio Delta 44 and AudioBuddy. To be honest, I'm a little excited and nervous. The reason for the excitement should be obvious, I'm beginning to get a recording situation set up again since I haven't really recorded anything for probably over nine years*. I'm nervous because I'm...
