jackctlmmc

I've tried to build this app without success, and ask if anyone else has done so successfully, and if so, how. (Yes, i know it's a bit old, i'm no spring chicken myself.)

Re: How to install jcgui?

Do you have something like libjack-jackd2-0, and libjack-jackd2-dev installed?

Re: How to install jcgui?

I've just built this from Git with the Latest Jack2. It recognised Jack2 no problem, and built successfully. If you're not familiar with ./waf, it's easy to get going. alex$ ./waf configure then alex$ ./waf it will build, then alex$ ./waf install (as root, so on an Ubuntu or Debian based system, you...

Re: Hanging notes with an external linuxsampler instance.

Tim, here's the blank .med file. There's no notes recorded as they, erm, hang, and i have to shut everything down and reopen.

Re: Qtractor Edit cursor forward and backward by grid?

Shame about mouse only, but you're not the only dev to just focus on that. I'll think about how to word a FR, but i have to add Rui, if you can't see the immediate value and common sense in moving the cursor with keystrokes as another workflow option, grid or not, then i'm not sure what i can write,...

Qtractor Edit cursor forward and backward by grid?

I've been impressed with the MMC setup in Qtractor, and it's made working with lots of orchestral clips, and recording, a lot easier. I use an Akai MPK88 for input, and it has all the bells and whistles including a full set of transport buttons. I can work at speed building up a project, so all is g...

Hanging notes with an external linuxsampler instance.

Tim, I have a large standalone linuxsampler instance running my orchestral gig files (loaded in RaySession with Audio routed to Non-Mixer and out to system playbacks), and i have built a muse project template with 198 midi tracks routed out to this large and stable instance. I can't use it, as notes...

Can't add program changes in Qtractor clips. (IGNORE)

Here's the usecase. Tracks are setup (193 of them) each with an .ins file. All are routed out to a single large Linuxsampler standalone instance running in RaySessions (NSM capable app) and loaded with my orchestral gig files (of which there are many). 1. When i add or record a clip, i'd like to add...

FR: non session management

Tim, i've added an FR to github Muse, asking for Non Session Management capability to be added to Muse. This will help with managing and controlling multiple apps at once, and it would be useful to have Muse as part of that.

Re: error message: Sending key 'preset' to UI failed, out of space

Quick postulate: "Out of space" might not mean the same as "Out of memory". There might only be a certain amount of 'space' reserved for the operation (by whatever is printing that message), or say, maximum number of such operations or synths etc. Yep, i'm wondering the same. It...

Re: Default pan

The default pan in Muse seems to be basic left and right with no controls for width. I've tried using a stereo width plugin to enhance my string sections, but to no avail. Correct, there's no width control. That is left up to a plugin if desired. Not sure why they didn't work for you. I've used the...

Re: error message: Sending key 'preset' to UI failed, out of space

I'm going to give you a new handle: The Punisher. Delivering punishing tests, ha ha. Wow, that error isn't found in our source, it seems like a system error telling you out of memory or something. It might very well be the LV2 synths (or our encapsulation of them) eating up memory, as logica...

Re: Default pan

I see. You have a clear idea of what you want. Well if I can go out on a limb here I would say it's beyond the limits of what two tracks can do. If a signal is stereo there is energy in the left and right channels. It's an illusion, and our brains create the phantom image. In terms of routing every...

Re: Default pan

Yes i should have been clearer. In the Muse pan, one side of the balance is reduced in volume to emulate left or right. This has the effect of narrowing the source, so in orchestral sample terms, an entire section of 1st violins becomes a mono instrument. What i'm looking to do is maintain both side...

Default pan

The default pan in Muse seems to be basic left and right with no controls for width. I've tried using a stereo width plugin to enhance my string sections, but to no avail. Is there a Muse user out there who's had any success with widening the stereo image after placing the 'centre' of the image in t...
